Mmmmm just had the most delicious dinner, it just just perfection. Although one of my flatmates asked if I had stuck to the plan all day today, and she looked a little surprised when I said yes whilst tucking into cheese topped pasta . Although I've got them thinking they should start too after one of them commented that I'm looking healthier, and my face.."glowing" was the word they used
I also found a good student recipe website today (not one of those 'how to make beans on toast' sites) that had some really good ideas I am very keen to try next week!
Only problem is this is all costing me a fortune. Before I lived off what was in my freezer and hardly spent anything, now I reckon I will be spending £30+ a week on food. Ah well my body will thank me, and I always think that as I don't drink or go out clubbing or anything, I deserve to spend a little bit more money on food.
Not going to weigh myself for a little bit longer now, in truth I'm really scared!0 -
Hello
I am new to SW and finding it good so far. One thing that confuses me is that eating out is tricky to syn as I can't find any eating out guides for specific places. Today I had meatballs with linguine in Wetherspoons which the ingredients were OK for (doing EE today) - linguine, pork and beef meatballs, tomato pasta sauce and parmesan (HEA) but I just wanted to check that this would be OK - does anyone know?
Many thanks

I can't give you an exact syn value, but you certainly made what sounds like a very good choice from the menu.
This is also how I try to approach eating out - make a good choice, and allow a few syns from your day for inevitable oils etc used and the fact that their meat is unlikely to be 'extra lean' etc... If you make the rest of your day good choices too, then you have fitted SW into your life0 -
Does anyone know if diluting olive oil in a spray bottle will work as an alternative to frylight? we've run out and can only buy it in Tesco, the nearest one is a 15 minute drive and we cant be arsed just for that! They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

Yes it does, I believe it is 1 part oil to 4 parts water? Someone said how they do it a few pages back
Oh great thanks, I'll have a look for that then, it'll be cheaper too! :j
Edit - I found the post and it said to mix 1 third oil to 2 thirds water, I'll try this tomorrow and see what happensThey have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

I remember reading in SW magazine once a lovely looking receipe for cauliflower cheese, of course I cant find the damn thing now and was wondering if anyone knows how to make a SW friendly version?
I have been known to make a weird vegetable cheesy bake, using Batchelors Pasta n Sauce Mild Cheese & Brocolli (1syn a pack). Part cook Cauliflower & Broccoli, place in a pan and cover with the made up Pasta & Sauce (made with water and no butter) then sprinkle over a HEA or HEB portion of cheese and bake in oven until golden & bubbling0 -

Hey. Pretty good choice - you'll need to syn the meat as it won't have been lean - try looking on the website for tesco meatballs or something similar on a Red day. If it was only a sprinkle or parmesan on top, you're probably due a bit more cheese0 -

yeah the size I'm thinking is somewhere around 2.3-3.5 times the size of the small asda ones so is it as straight forward as 2.5/3.5 the sun value ? or is it not that straight forward ?
As it happens I resisted my extreme desire to go get one from my local spar - their egg custards are soooooooo delicious
Asda have a large one listed, so not sure if this can give you a more realistic idea of the value of the Spar one if it has a similar weightAsda Egg Custard Tart 320g pack
