    Good afternoon folks,

i'm having real difficulties getting into the plan and sticking to it at the moment - I just seem to be self sabotaging and putting off being really serious about it. yet, I tried on some clothes today and wasn't veryhappy with what I saw in the changing room mirror.
Angie, your valentine's challenge sounds like an excellent idea - I wish you good luck. How have you managed to keep your motivation going all this time?

It's absolutely freezing here with no let up in sight which doesn't help either when it comes to not wanting to scoff huge amounts of comfort food!!

    I MOST CERTAINLY HOPE NOT!

After a long, tiring, emotional day we collapsed into bed and fell strainght into a deep slumber as soon as our heads hit the pillows!

Made up for it in the morning though ;)

Afternoon all, just back from a long walk...round Boots lol (start of the 75% sale so got some great bargains) my dad is dragging me to the gym tomorrow. I havnt been to a gym in years, but my dad goes nearly everyday and has asked me a thousand times to join him..

    Im just catching up -
Judderman - I hope everything will be ok with your job, thinking of you and sending <hugs>

Angie - Goodluck in your Valentines challenge, im sure you'll both manage it. I usually just lose 1-2lbs a week, but I find when I do change things, like starting EE, or even being a wee bit more relaxed (ie having a few syns over) I seem to lose more.

Well done to Junior J on your great loss.
Well done to all the other losers too sorry I meant to jot down all the names before writing this lol

today im having a EE day

Brekkie - a HUGE bowl of balckberries, strawberries, banana and a shape lasting satisfaction yoghurt mixed through (free)

Lunch - JP with pasta n sauce, a plum, satsuma (free)

dinner - lemon and chilli chicken salad with SW chips( Free)

supper - toast and jam (HEB +1/2 syn)

snacks, a handful of grapes, a banana. (im off to the hairdresser, normally i take crisps to nibble, but fruit will have to do)

    drinks, water and tea (hea)

syns - im havng very few syns today as i had a vodka and Diet irn bru last night and a packet of quavers. so far ive had a knob of lurpak lighter on my tattie (1 1/2 syns) and 1 gerlain sea shell choc (3 syns?)

Thanks for your wishes :A - I might need them if I am going to turn this around, start losing weight (you know, like other people do!! :rotfl: ) and get to target in a month.

In some ways, I really have adapted to 'diet for life not for losing weight' principle of slimming world. For several years pre SW, we have been OS - ie we cook everything from scratch, and eat loads of F&V, so in some ways, the bulk of SW has not been a big change for me.

We found though that we were putting on weight (very slowly) - maybe only a stone a year, but it was going on and staying on. This was down to a bit too much wine, a bit too much oil, a few too many 'treats' etc. And over 3 or 4 years... well, you can do the maths!

So maybe my motivation comes from the fact that regardless of how I plan my meals I have to eat, and following the SW plan does seem to be working (slowly I'll admit). I might as well stick to SW - I haven't found a better option around!

I simply struggle with occasional frustration - to follow the plan for weeks and weeks and weeks, and see people in class losing significant weight whilst 'misbehaving' is frustrating when I might only lose 1/2lb over two or three week

I am sorry that you are finding it hard, I totally understand, but all you can do is start each day the SW way, and if it all goes belly up by 11am, when you start again tomorrow try and get to midday  and so on.... by the end of the week, you might look back and feel chuffed with yourself!

So here come some hugs for anyone who is finding following SW tough - it can mean a big change in our shopping and eating habits and how we feel towards ourselves...

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

For me, I think the biggest change was the day I realised that treat food didn't need to be unhealthy food - sometimes all it took was a bit more effort!
