Don't worry about it.... it is a highly emotional time at the moment, just before BR, that sometimes things get bottled up and then come out when you least expect..... a bit like trapped wind!
I do hope that everything is OK, I am sure it will be ...... fingers crossed!

Talk about spooky
Looks like I may be getting a bonus as well in the next few months. I think I will tell my OR as well and see what happens and hopefully he may be a bit more flexible than DON's and doesnt take it off me. Dont hold out much hope though

Dont really have any suggestions apart from £500 seems a cheap price to pay for being debt free. Not that it will help you much now at the moment. As SA says can you not try to offset it somehow.
Had a bit of bad news myself today. OH had a bit of an abnormal test and is awaiting results. Had this 2 years ago and thought it was all done.
Sorry to go off topic there
ym
Hi YM, firstly, am sorry to hear about your OH's test - fingers crossed it is just a little glitch and it will all be well for you. Big hugs! I really hope it is all ok.
I know that I am now debt free which I am grateful for, it's just disappointing to have worked hard all through the year achieving the targets set and other stuff, just to see what you worked hard for snatched away.
The only other thing that has just come to mind is that we have just received a bill through for approx £260 for the leccy & gas. What if I tell the OR we have this to pay?? Will they tell me to include it in my BR as arrears, which it is not, it is just the debit balance which has built up over winter.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
I would definatly try it with the Scottish Power bill. Does not hurt to try

Hmm agreed if you dont ask you dont getWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Yes, yes, yes!!! Plea bargain with the leccy bill!
I am going to do something similar with the money I have had to pay out for a new exhaust. I get £25 a month for car repairs but in the first month it cost £140 and the service and MOT is in June. I am keeping receipts and doing the overtime to cover the extra expense otherwise I will have to go seriously short elsewhere and I can't afford to.2011 - New year, New start, New me[STRIKE]Planning on [/STRIKE] making my dreams a reality0 -
Thanks everyone, I am getting over it, should not have built my hopes up at all, thats all it is, only to get crushed!
I did intend to pay the leccy bill but if I can't get any back then it will have to be paid as and when and the monthly dd's will be increased by a lot I guess. Back to basics shopping this month for food!

How does this sound??
"I am writing today regarding the telephone call of ............... March 2009. I am making a request regarding the bonus payment I am expecting to receive in my March wage.
The reason I wish to appeal is to please be allowed to retain some of the bonus to cover some essential bills we have this month.
The car MOT, service and insurance are all due for renewal in this month of March. Because of the short time that has passed since I went bankrupt, my husband and I have not had time to build up a suitable amount of money to cover these car repairs and insurance costs. The car is essential for my husbands travel to and from work and he cannot use public transport because of the early starts and late finishes with his employment.
We have also received a bill from our energy supplier for the sum of £260 and I was hoping to pay this with the bonus and avoid our building up arrears with our supplier. A copy of this is enclosed.
Please will you give consideration to my appeal, I hoped that the bonus I was to receive would avoid our getting into further trouble with our finances as we are financially stretched which was the reason I did go bankrupt. I hope that you can help us in this instance and thank you for your time."
Does this sound ok? I hope so.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
It sounds great, honest and to the point.
It is a real pain when biggish bills come in just after BR and you haven't had time to build up a surplus. They must realise that.
Good Luck,

I hope so anyway! otherwise we might be up the creek again sooner than we planned! that sounds bad, of course we don't plan on things getting bad but without the bonus, it will be more of a struggle.
Will see how it goes.BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0
