Hi SA, don't worry, you are not the only one on here! ;)

I am on my own today until 2.30. just me and the kids. my OH is working and he does the kinda job that means it is a rota whoever has to work today. But he will be home soon. and not to sound like a scrooge but he does get paid extra for today and we could do with a little extra. :o

I'm sorry that the car cost a bit more than you thought but I am glad that you did get a good deal on it. damsel in distress etc! ;) as to having a man around the place - they have their uses but other times.... well, nuff said! ;) I look back to when it was just me, I had my house, my car, my money..... but saying that, given the choice, I wouldn't really want to go back as I do have my OH and the two kids. Hard work but worth it! only thing I want to give back is the debt!! :D

thanks for the tip about the budget planner, will go have a look for my new start too! best to get things all properly budgeted.

You will soon be rid of all these sharks that prey upon the old debts. Once you are BR, they can pursue all they like but it will just mean big trouble for them from the OR if they keep at it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

  • Good Morning everyone and Good Morning Donna,

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday and not too many of you have to work, like me!

Only a week to go before the New Years Resolutions are in place and this year I am determined to make mine last, especially as they are financial and I need to make a big change.

The BR date is getting closer and closer.
I really don't know what to do about this DCA chasing me, whether to include it on the BR forms? The trouble is I don't know if I actually owe anything or to who? From what I have read, these people are very bad at actually giving any info out, all they want is to get people to pay up - using bully boy tactics to do so. Any ideas anyone?

I will probably post this as a new thread on the board - I am sure some of the wise ones will be able to advise me of what to do. I can feel myself getting worked up over it and I am sure it's not neccessary..... as usual

    Anyway, enough from me ......

Just put it on the forms SA, with as much detail as you have.

It's then up to the OR to sort it.

I know it is hard, but believe me these people are not worth getting stressed about. Tis "****er all" they can do to you. ;)

    Hi SA

hope you had a lovely time, we had a good day thanks, just chilling out.

Like fermi says, they cannot do anything to you, they are just trying it on to see if they can get anything out of you so be strong and ignore them. put them on your BR forms and leave it to the OR to get them sorted out. I know i get worked up too much over things as well so you are not alone in that. And my OH told me off for being on here too much again! :p

Hope that work is not too stressful for you.

    Take care

  • Thanks to you both for replying - and on Boxing Day too!

I think it is bad enough coping with the stigma of BR without having to add another £4k of debt that I might not even owe, if you get my drift!
    Best wishes to you both..

well if you tell the OR that they haven't responded to the prove it and cca request, then he may be able to find out if they are just trying it on or not. And tell the OR that you believe it is now a statute barred debt too so he might just write to them and inform them in nice official language to stop pursuing it and that they are not entitled to receive anything under the BR, even if you did get an ipa, they would not get a penny. :D

Put like that, it doesn't seem half as bad. I thought the OR might tell me off for not sorting it myself..... and I have tried, honestly! :o

please do not worry SA, I am sure you have done all you can to find out if this is a legitimate debt and if they do not reply to you, then it is not your fault! :D

  • My bankruptcy date is also the 12th Jan 2009 same as startagain!!

I have struggled with unsecured debts for two years. My husband and I seperated a couple of times due to the stress of financial probs and we have now seperated for good.

I have opened a cashminder account pre bankruptcy. The strange thing is I am convinced the judge is going to decline the application and I dont know why!! This in itself is worrying me sick.

Hi patsypat, I have worried the same about getting declined bankruptcy. there are only two reasons they will do it:

    a) you do not understand the implications of bankruptcy and have not sought advice.

    b) you are not insolvent.

that does not stop you (or me) worrying I know, but the day will be over soon. if you are not already on the list, I will add you just now. :D
