    Hi SA -

wait til the OR interview is over, I am sure we will both feel loads better after that. I still don't have my OR pack despite being told it was going to be sent out early this week. will have to wait a bit longer I suppose.

Am heading off on another trip to see the relatives at the end of this month and am dreading the car journey! have been looking at ebay to get a dvd player to keep the kids happier in the car on the way because it was a bit of a nightmare last time. and oldest one was sick!

all the shops have got them for £100 but I don't want to really spend that much - £60 at the most which I will then take out of their savings accounts. They are paying for it not me!

Hope everyone is ok and having a good weekend! I am having a great time...  ...two toddlers arguing over a football!

  • Good Morning everyone,
At least the rain has stopped here in the North East.... don't know how long for though....
I didn't manage to get the day off today but have reduced the hours to just 12 - 4 with a day off tomorrow, so I can't grumble.
Good Luck with the DVD hunt Don, I am sure you will find one ..
Well, my payslip has arrived for Jan... payday is Tuesday and like yellowmonkey it has been a looong wait - last payday 19th December!
I am cacking myself in case there is a problem and it doesn't reach my cashminder account. I have confirmed it with my payroll dept - but I have had so much go wrong, despite assurances, over the years that I am just waiting for another catastrophe to happen.
Wait and see time - I will keep you posted.
The other thing that is playing on my mind a bit is the varying income with the OR interview. Those of you who have read my story will know that my income is due to drop by about 30% as overtime is reduced drastically where I work.
Unfortunately, the three most recent payslips will include plenty of overtime and also Xmas and New Year - January is about £300 less and Feb will be another £300 less.... It is just a question of making the case clear to the "member of staff" from the ORs office. I just wish it was over and done with, despite reassurances from the lovelies on here, I can't stop worrying!
I am trying to keep myself busy in my spare time. I have volunteered to be a dogwalker for a local animal sanctuary and am waiting to hear from them. I have also decided to start horse riding again - that is from the week after next so lots to look forward to....
So that's the latest update from Start Again's BR journey into the unknown.
Have a good few days off ym....
    Look after yourselves.

Yep I got a dvd with twin screens for the car - £70 - £10 over budget but it is brand new from ebay and the kids are paying for it with the money I saved up for them that they got as presents! :j and we have hopefully a more relaxed peaceful journey at the end of the month! ;)

I know you are worried about your payslips SA but come February - you will have the proof in the form of your payslip that your income is going to be much less. Just tell them that your work has cut overtime therefore you will not have any spare funds to pay into an IPA. I can't stop worrying about things too - for me it is the OH - he doesn't seem to quite get it that he really has to budget properly now  I can't really bail him out if he goes o/d and I am sticking to my budget now whatever happens which means I won't be raiding the savings I am building up for holiday and dentist and optician (she says  )........

Nice to hear you are keeping busy, dog walking - got two dogs of my own to take out each day.

I am at home and OH is at work today, I am working too - washing, dishes, tidying.......... usual boring stuff!

Have a good day SA and everyone! :D

    Hi

Totally relate to what SA and DON are saying.

My payslip will be showing extra up until the end of FEb when I get a bonus and then will revert to normal.Glad to see you was not scared off by a certain someone SA and hopefully they will not return. Part of life on a successfull thread I suppose and is the price of fame that we have to deal with these trolls.

With the budgeting it is a case now of having to be 100% behind it now for me as there is not any alternative or another pot I can dip into. I am quite lucky in the fact that my OH is good at it and teaches me a few things.

The DVD was the best anti noise and argument device I have ever had for my car and is a godsend on a long journey. Mind you they argue about what DVD they are going to watch

    Take care

They aren't getting a choice - I am picking it! Shrek or Happy Feet or Ice Age. And if they fight over then mummy is having it front with her and watching what she wants! ;) But they are too little to really fight over it yet....I hope!

Hello to you both Don and ym,

No I wasn't scared off ym - just laying low, it is difficult on a board with no Mods and I was getting pms as well...
A few words of support from Don79 and I am back!!!

I think part of the problem with the lower income thing is that I feel a bit guilty about it all. I am furious at work because from Nov onwards they were saying that the overtime would be zero and that double time overtime would go on Sundays, and that we would have a working week of any 5 days from 7. Then they made a lot of people redundant before Christmas. This is what forced my hand and I filed for BR.

Now..... we are short staffed, there is plenty of overtime and the 5 from 7 plan has been postponed indefinitely! But I nearly had a nervous breakdown in the run up to Christmas and I know I couldn't have gone on like that.....
I have now set a limit on my overtime hours and won't go above them - preserving my health and sanity!

I just want to come out of the BR thing at the other side and get on with my life.... too much ......what if? what if?

Well done on the DVD purchase Don - it is definitely a buyers market at the moment as people tighten their belts and get ready for the bumpy ride!

    Luv you all

    SA

Calm down, calm down. You seem all prepared - you could make a checklist for tomorrow morning. Its time to relax, if you've made it this far you've already done the hard part. Tomorrow will be the easiest of the BR process. Sleep tight tonight knowing that you've already been through the worst of it.

Come back tomorrow and let us know how you got on.

    You'll be fine!
