    Hi PM

I take it you have tried to get access to the online service to print them off? You should still be able to access documents to print them off.

You could try the branch certainly but in the branch they can only print off a list of transactions, it won't be an official statement - all it will show are the dates and the amounts - not where the money has come from. But you can always ask the branch to put their official date stamp on each page as confirmation it is a genuine print out from the branch. You are entitled to ask for information about your account in branch so don't let them fob you off, it is very easy to do a print out. The only difficulty may arise is if the account is already closed and off the system.

Good luck with the job interview - hope you are succesful! and good luck with the 5p's!

  • cheers all. had my pint. went down very well. it was actually £1.70 down to a Monday promotion so I stuck 50p in the quiz machine and won £2.00. i quit while i was ahead and can now be totally reckless and have a fishcake and chips this evening!!! started walking to Halifax Bank but chickened out. logged in again online but I have limited access and cannot access my paper-free documents so can't get last three months statements. guess i will have to call into branch tomorrow. i do feel a great weight has been lifted but it still feels shameful to have to explain my situation and, even although I don't know the people in the branch, will probably go bright red when using the 'bankrupt' word. But I guess that's my life for the foreseeable future and redundancies and funeral costs aside my own making, so hey ho! just now realised that last week's job interview was probably a waste of time... it was with the Chelse Building Society... I guess if they offered my the (non financial related) job I'd probably be frowned upon given my status? at least this week's interview is with a non-financial related company!

PM you do not have to tell them why you want the copies, just ask. We get it all the time in the branch I am in and we don't ask why customers want them. It is none of our business!

As regards getting a new job in a bank (i am currently employed in one) did the Chelsea ask if they could credit search you?

Unfortunately, yes. I applied last December and I did have to tick a box to confirm they could credit search me. I got shortlisted and called in for interview last week and was told a decision would be made at the end of the month. The job is in Public Relations and doesn't involve me having access to money or giving financial advice. I'm guessing my non too pleasant credit reference and subsequent bankruptcy won't go down too well though. That is of course assuming that they are actually considering offering me the job, which, given my nervous interview (had held my previous job for 14 years so not used to the interview scene!), probably isn't the case anyway. I think I'll write that one off in my mind, concentrate on my new life and my new interview, and if anything does come of the Chelsea, then that is just a bonus.

Need to be careful revealing details... if the OR finds out who I am and gets to see I've been out drinking alcohol, putting cash into quiz machines, and planning on a takeaway, only hours after the bankruptcy, I may end up being thoroughly investigated because of my extravagant ways!

Well you never know! it may turn out for the best too if you don't get it as who knows where the banks are going! I am not holding my breath about redundancies at my work even though the bosses are currently insisting that they are not going to happen!

Now you can start really living the high life! takeaways and beer! :p

Although I was saying it in jest, a promotional pint of Carling and my forthcoming fishcake and chips supper actually will be living the high life compared to the food parcels I've been getting off my absolutely brilliant family members since xmas. Although I have really appreciated the generosity, I was beginning to go mad from the constant cream of tomato soup so it'll be nice to have some variety tonight!!!! It'll be nice to begin earning a decent wage again and, assuming the OR doesn't require the surplus, begin to pay back their generosity and not see my money swallowed up by interest and default charges.

Think I'm going to go to bed for a nap now... didn't sleep too well last night... it's been a very tiring bankruptcy day... and that was the first pint I've had in ages and it's gone straight to my head!!!

Congratulations and Very Well Done Pockett Money:T

By hook or by crook you get those statements from the Halifax and a refund of the fees. It is not as if you are asking for an overdraft or loan, is it......:D
Reading your timelines in the court you had a bit of hanging around but the end result was the same.... BR!
I remember the kick I got out of ordering fish and chips for the first time in years and the taste was amazing.... I had got used to living on jacket potatoes and tuna fish....
Good Luck with the job interview ..... and your new financial freedom ... time to turn the corner..

Oh I know........it has been months and months since I have had a proper takeaway! and having any wine or beer in the house is an absolute rarity (well excluding OH's home made wine! :p )

Hope that you have a really good nights sleep and you are starting afresh tomorrow. Well done. :T
