  • As of 10:47am this morning I am an official member of the January club. Got the bus okay. Arrived at court at 9:10am for 9:30am appointment. Was turned down for assistance with court fees as, although I took proof of Contribution-based JSA, they needed three months of bank statements. How I get these from my online account I do not know as my account was frozen two weeks ago. In any case, got there in plenty of time for 9:30am appointment. Was called to take oath at 10:20am. Was called in to see judge very briefly at 10:47am. Was called into empty room for OR initial telephone call at 12:16pm. And that was that. Strange feeling really. Now need to work out how to try and get three months of statements from my bank who froze my account so I can try and get my court fee back, something I couldn't really afford to pay as have been unemployed for past couple of months.

Applied in branch for a co-op account, got a form from barclays so I can apply by post for an account, got the bus back home and here I am. Now I might actually answer the phone when Halifax do their routine three times a day chase up. Also managed to get together £2.20 worth of 5p pieces from around the house so may pop across road for a pint to try and calm the nerves. OR will be making contact next week sometime.

Thanks again for all the assistance and support.

Hi Pockettmoney! re the ex160 - you can still apply to get the money back for the court fees, welfare rights told me this so you could still send off the statements with the form.

:T Congratulations on getting through it all......Well Done!:T

Yes, they did explain I'd have six months to resubmit the form and claim a refund. It's just the fact I need the past three months of bank statements or they wont process it. Not entirely sure what to do as I am with Halifax and have registered for paper free banking. I used to be able to print statements, but they locked my account recently as the overdraft they happily gave me 10 years ago was withdrawn when I was made redundant and I went 8 weeks owing them money. Suppose I could walk into the branch and see if they could help but I won't be holding my breath. Be handy if I could get the court fee back as I had to borrow it from someone who could only just afford it more than I could!

Anyway, job interview lined up Wednesday, getting back into work and waiting a month for my first pay cheque will probably be quicker than waiting on a refund from the courts!

Now... about that pint....! Just hope the pub accept fifty 5p pieces!!!!!!!
