oooh sounds good.
how long in total did it take to set up?Number 001 of 2009! :T0 -
All in I think it was a couple of weeks, I got my letter from dla, they sent it straight away and I took it down to the post office the day I got it, they sent it in the internal mail that day and it was about another week before I got the letter which you have to take back to the post office you originally went to to pick up your card, I even got to change the pin to one of my choice. You just go to the post office on the day your benefit goes in and either withdraw it all or as little as you need, you can go as often as you like but I tend to take it all out as soon as it goes in.Life may not be the party we hoped forBut while we're here, we should dance.....:jBR Date 19.01.09:hello:0

don't want to jump in on anybody's discussion but noticed the problems with benefits going into frozen accounts and just wondered whether anybody has tried a post office benefits account. I got one, as a back up I might say just in case nobody would give me a bank account after going br, and it was really easy and quick to set up. You just need to call whoever you get benefit from child, dla, tax credits whatever and get them to send you a letter requesting an account You can also aply for an invatation letter to open a PO account from your local job cetre in person if you didnt want to wait for post arriving etc, take it down to your local post office with your id, it gets sent off and then you get a letter back with your card. Can't have wages paid in but all and any benefits can go in there. I went to the website first for the info, but basically you have to call them it's mostly done on the phone and at the PO.
Sorry if i've trod on anybody's toes!

Good Morning everyone,
Day off today, sitting at my computer looking out on a cold wet day and feeling a bit miserable......
My OR pack has arrived and my phone interview is Mon 16th Feb at 10am and they say it will be about 30 mins and will be conducted by a "member of staff" in the OR office, probably the cleaner knowing my luck!
There are no shocks or surprises, just LOADS of forms which seem to be asking me about my colour, religion, sexuality and whether I am in possesion of all my limbs or perhaps have more than normal...... sorry bad humour again .... A world gone PC mad.
But, all of a sudden I am scared again.... this reminds me of the feeling when I submitted my BR forms online..... is it because it is another point of no return? My information looks OK, no astronomical expenses on the SOA, no astronomical debts come to that...... so why do I feel like I do?
Help, anyone else feel like this ............

Hi SA
its miserable outside where I am too!
Still no post! I don't get why it matters about your ethnic origin for going BR?!
I am getting anxious now too! Nothing heard from the OR except the initial contact.
Don't get scared SA, I am sure you have nothing to be worried about, bet you are straightforward and have ED in six months - after all, they only estimate 30 mins for your interview which must mean straightforward case - its not three hours anyway!
All will be well - don't panic.

Morning friends,
Its miserable but its my birthday..... my last non-BR birthday so I invite you all to the Inn later for a few tipples....
I imagine its just for collecting statistics. I can't see any other reason why this info would be of any use.
Hugs to SA and DON79 if you are feeling downMoney, money, money. Must be funny, in a rich man's world. :rolleyes:0 -

There is a name to refer to if there are any questions - without naming her - she has a name that makes me think she is about 18 years old......
Cutting her teeth on a "straightforward" one as you put it Don......!
Gotta laugh, or just might cry......
