I know someone whos car was in for repair and the loan car got damaged in a supermarket car park leaving a £200 excess to pay.
And some hire cars have a £500 excess.:eek:0 -
Daughter, student teacher, using hire car organised by Uni, had it dented by Mother collecting brat from school where DD was on placement. Who picks up the excess? Uni?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

And the people who do it think it's nothing and don't give a f***. As you point out, when it's a hire car it's £200. If it's your car you're expected to put up with it.I know someone whos car was in for repair and the loan car got damaged in a supermarket car park leaving a £200 excess to pay.

my father has some mobility problems and I have 2 children,my father refuses to register himself disabled,so cannot use the disabled spaces,my kids are too old for the parent and toddler parking,so,I go over the back of the car park and hope that I will be left alone, but NO! when I return to the car, there is no way my father can get into the passenger seat and the kids end up climbing through the boot  I do not park on my own to save my car,but just so that everyone can enter the car easily,I have in the past 'accidently' door dented a car next to mine
Please,if you see a car on it's own, leave it that way, there could be someone disabled who cannot use the disabled spaces, who really needs the extra space
rant over
So, you think you have the right to deliberately damage someone's car because they can't mind read and/or 'see' that you have an stubborn passenger with a disability??
Now, I for one get annoyed at people parking by my deserted car, and don't even get my OH started on it. But your post has really made my blood boil!!:mad::mad:
Put a bl00dy big note in the window asking people to kindly leave space around the car if it is that big a problem. Or maybe pull out and let them all in!! There is no need to do a dramatic display with kids climbing in from the back - that is surely just about making a scene and grabbing attention?
Do not deliberately damage other cars as that is way worse than the idiot parkers this thread is talking about!
Jeez, what the hell is wrong with people??:mad::mad:0 -

Oh that's really sensible and practical! let'sjust leave two young children hanging around parked cars in a car park, while I pull out of the space? where would you suggest is a safe place for them to wait without the fear of them being knocked over? climbing in from the boot is in no way dramatic or making a scene,it's just a practical solution to the problem caused by idiots, that feel the need to park 2 inches from my car  as for deliberately denting someone else's car,if it didn't park so close,it wouldn't have been hit,it wasn't deliberate,I just simply couldn't get in any other way :mad:Debt at highest £102k

Yeah, pull the other one... Your post was very clear!
I see no problem whatsoever with the two children standing by your father while you move the car a few feet forward! If you are parked at the far end anyway, there will be less traffic to worry about won't there? But I guess it is better to teach them they can dent other peoples' property if they dare get in their way?
If you can't open your door properly, then get in from the other side!
Leave a note on their windscreen if you want to vent! Certainly a better option than 'accidentally'
damaging someone elses car!
Put a note in your car if you like - better than expecting people to mind read!
There really is no excuse for your actions!0 -

Oh dear, someone really has got their underwear in a twist over this, haven't they LOL
you really need to take a chill pill
I do actually have a note in my car windscreen, but obviously people do not bother to read it and there are also 2 child seats in the rear,so if I were looking in the car, then I would make the assumption that there are children using the car
my father isn't always with us,so there is absolutely no way my children are going to stand alone in a car park.
Surely it's just plain politeness to leave sufficient space for someone to get into their car and just how do you expect me to get in from the other side? I cannot climb across due to MY disibilty  I can assure you,I take no pleasure in denting people's cars, but as I said,I have done this ONCE.I even had the number plate called out in the supermarket to ask to be moved, but even that didn't work,as the person had obviously gone off into town and used the supermarket car park to park free!Debt at highest £102k

simple solution to all these problems is get a roof rack and carry a scafold plank width ways ,you may have problems driving to and from the supermarket but iam sure no one will park next to youHi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
