Perhaps some cars have magnets on the doors that draw other cars near them? It would explain why the OP and others have problems when they park." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

And the people who drive around without any lights on at 5pm this time of year, and even if flashed still don't get the hint
only yesterday I flashed someone like this. nothing. turned my lights off (so as to make them see how difficult it was to see me) nothing.
idiots.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

i even try to park away from the nearest spaces to the entrance but it still happens.
YOu are not one of the car park "Post it note police" are you?!
Both me and my friend, in different car parks at different sides of the country have received post it notes berating our parking ability.... this got me thinking, what kind of stressed out Victor Meldrew type character is really that bothered about parking spaces that they carry some paper in the car for the sole purpose of writing angry anonymous notes on peoples car windows.
My car was parked in the space - the car park was busy - with other cars either side and in front, at a supermarket. The Post it Note Police had written -
"!!!! driver? Can't find reverse?"
I am not sure why he was annoyed at my parking - I was within the space centrally within the lines. The only possible reason I can think of is because he had reversed into his space, meaning his boot was almost inaccessible by trolley. I hadn't even touched his car!0 -
Aw come on Conor in an empty car park it makes much more sense to leave a space (at least) between cars minimising the risk of door dings.
What really annoys me is the eejits that can't park bwetween two white lines!!!
In an empty car park, the cars SHOULD park next to each other - this makes it easier to fill the whole car park, as you can spot the empty spaces in a big block at the far end of the car park without wasting time driving round the whole thing.
It is the idiots who insist on parking really spread out in a car park that cause all the long delays in finding a parking space!0 -
You are not alone, it infuriates me as well, I call it the " Sheep Effect ", they clearly havn't got the brains to park anywhere other than near another vehicle.
I often feel like asking them why they selected that space, when there are so many better one's to choose from?
The sheep effect can also be seen on campsites, lovely open space in a empty field and someone decides to pitch their tent with the ropes crossing yours.
A BBQ getting started in that area can help keep people away.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

They are not allowed!!!
Seriously, I hadn't thought the argument through, but it seems more sensible than parking as scattered out as possible around the car park. At least for one small part of the day - when the car park opens - it will be easier to find a space!!0 -
Jeez some people!
I went to Tesco last night and parked next to this gold coloured car with an "I Love Jeannie" sunstrip. The !!!!!! must have bent my wing mirror back on my treasured blue Nissan Micra.

I find this problem incredibly annoying and I'm afraid to admit, that I put post it notes on cars
my father has some mobility problems and I have 2 children,my father refuses to register himself disabled,so cannot use the disabled spaces,my kids are too old for the parent and toddler parking,so,I go over the back of the car park and hope that I will be left alone, but NO! when I return to the car, there is no way my father can get into the passenger seat and the kids end up climbing through the boot  I do not park on my own to save my car,but just so that everyone can enter the car easily,I have in the past 'accidently' door dented a car next to mine
Please,if you see a car on it's own, leave it that way, there could be someone disabled who cannot use the disabled spaces, who really needs the extra space

It is annoying when people park next to you in an empty car park or even half empty, yes they can park where they want but why choose to park next to me,0
