Thank you Bargain bird. Used to make a sort of coconut macaroon with my gran's recipe. It was baked though, tin of condensed with coconut in till stiff, made into shapes (she used egg cup, mine were more random!) and then bake in a low oven till brown. We thought these were ace, but your Bounty balls sound better! Will make some for my 'petits fours'

    Thanks muchly

  • Happy Birthday to MDA :bdaycake: and Nelski :bdaycake: Hope you have a fabulous day .
Its one of my DGS birthdays today as well, Ben is 13 and I shall see him after school as I have bought him a new fishing rod so I will be a much loved Granny.
Cold is in full flood this morning, and my nose is running like the Thames:rotfl: its also taking on the same colour as Rudolphs :rotfl: Hopefully it will be back to 'normal' next week.
I have my craft class this afternoon we all take in cakes ect and sing carols and generally have some fun as all of our Christmas cards are done.
Will be at DD's for dinner tonight as she will be making her terrific chocolate cake for Ben.
It's her birthday this Friday as well, all my family birthdays seem to be mainly between November and March, only got a couple in mid summer.
<<hugs>> to those who need one as Chistmas isn't always a happy time for some people.
Take care everyone and wrap up well
    Cheers, JackieO xx

    hello to everyone,

Get well soon to everyone who needs it as well as best wishes to everyone who needs it if you are having a tough time.

I really not in the christmas mood. We are on the 12th working day with no bathroom. As we are having a re-fit. fingers crossed finished today and I can have a shower in my new shower tonight :j

Have had to order a new cooker so  arriving today and being plumbed in tomorrow. Been with a out a oven for nearly a month. Thought I better get on in time for christmas. Damn now have to cook christmas lunch :rotfl:

Shame it could not have happened during the summer as I don't use the oven that much. The new one has a double oven. The top one can be used as a oven and a grill. So might save a bit of gas there being a smaller oven.

Right better get back to work. Good job the boss is not here :rotfl:

    Take care.

    Yours

    Calley

Afternoon to everyone, not been on here for a few days, I've been too busy scouring websites for redundancy advice.

My thoughts are with everyone going through a difficult time at the moment, for whatever reason.

The boss finally realised yesterday that there was a procedure he had to follow and hasn't been. It all got very interesting yesterday afternoon, have to say I enjoyed watching him squirm his way through the meeting we had.

Not much in the way of osing these last few days, apart from the meals that have been cooked. I also made a load of notepads out of a load of paper that was being thrown out of the office the other day, should be enough to last about ten years, according to the OH.
  • Afternoon

Diva & Nelski - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both you, hope you have a lovely day (not together, but each of you!)

Not been on here much the past few days, the flu has decided to come back in for a second & nastier go; I couldn't even move on Sunday :( Every bone in my body hurt. Then I kept tossing & turning all night last night, so am tired but trying not to sleep yet as I'll be up all night again... At least it will be gone by Xmas. I hope.

So not much OSing going on here - though I have 2 bags of coconut in the cupboard (they were cheap!) & I'm sure my DD's will enjoy making Bounty Balls with it :)

((((((hugs)))))) for all those feeling poorly or going through tough times.

    Afternoon all.:hello:

Big ((((Hugs)))) to all who are troubled, unwell, got poorly loved ones, or otherwise not having a good time just now.

Ravylesley, I honestly had never heard of John Barrowman. Having looked at the link Sistercas provided, and looked at the programmes he’s appeared in, I’ve never seen any of them. I watch very little TV.

Hippo Bathday to MSDiva and Nelski
Happy anniversary Tru & Mr Tru (you forgot????   )

I’m going to sit under the table and chew a slipper if anyone else mentions smear tests. I’m afraid I’m putting it off for the foreseeable. Just can’t face that kind of stress right now.

I’m baking for Britain today. Bread rolls, apple pie, cheese tomato & Quorn quiche and Mint Spies, so I’m here taking a short break to catch my breath.
It’s going to take all day, but the only way I won’t knock the stuffing out of myself is to do little bits and then rest for a bit.:o

One of Mr LW’s Muslim colleagues has just returned from Hajj (sp?) and has come back with a filthy cold. I just hope Mr LW doesn’t bring the lurgy home with him.

Don’t know if Dungeons & Dragons is on tonight as yet. Not sure that I feel up to going even if it is, but Mr LW will be disappointed if I don’t.:confused:What to do??

OK, back to the kitchen now.;)
