Good morning all!
Cold and veryfoggy here today. Have bunged the bm and yoghurt on and returned to bed, all four children are poorlies today! Thankfully only ds has this horrible sickness bug though, girls all just have vile colds. I'm feeling very decadent as I never watch breakfast telly, but I have it on, and I'm enjoying a cuppa a bourbon biscuit!
Need to hoover, tidy round and do the pots from last night, then make some soup for lunch and rolls, hopefully the dough will have risen even though it's perishing! Tonight's dinner is curry, so nice and simple, just need to strip last night's chicken really.
dd3 has her nativity and Christingle tonight in church, so hopefully she'll be okay to do that so long as I dose her up with Calpol (or the much cheaper Boots equivalent anyway!).
Well when I finally moved myself yesterday I trotted off to Lidl's, sprouts, leeks, red cabbage, parsnips and cucumbers are all on offer and very cheap, oh so were carrots and mangoes (need to make more mango chutney!) I was very pleased with my haul, and will be keeping it all cold out in the garage, should be fine till next week, so that's the veg taken care of I think. Oh and onions were really really cheap too, 19p a kilo for normal onions, 29p for red onions.
Then I took a trip into the charity shops, found Oklahoma and Cats on video for dd1, she loves musicals, and they were 50p each, bargain! Also got a copy of Perfect Cooking by Marguerite Patten, looking forward to browsing it, think dd2 will love it as it explains all sorts of cooking terms.
Don't know if anyone else heard, but microsoft have recommended using a diff browser to internet explorer whilst they work on a patch to fix a possible problem that can allow hacking - just a quick warning!
Right off for a catch up and read back, hugs to all in need xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Purple - you can freeze yoghurt, don't know if you have the space?
Tired mum - our local Poundland sells those foam covered wires that you can use for curling your hair, they work brilliantly on damp hair and can be slept on overnight, and very cheap earphones, don't know if that'd be any use to you? My dd1 used to wait until Christmas eve to spring her most wanted list on us, she managed to survive the fact that she wasn't going to get most of it! They all know that they need to let me know early, preferably sometime around September lol!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Hello everybody,it's realy warm here today and there's a nice light breeze so at least I'll get my washing dried.
MrT came in last night from work looking like a zombie,he's got another cold bug. It's the same every winter he gets one after the other.I never seem to be affected fortunatly(think it's all the vitamins I take)
I'm having a problem with the letter v on my keyboard, having to press it over and over again before it'll come out.Anyone know what to do to stop this.
I'm going to do the last bit of my shopping today and if I've forgotton anything, tough. There's no way I'm venturing out to the shops again before Christmas.I just hate all the queueing,it's madness.
Well have a good day everyone.
Hope your weather is as nice as mine(hope it's not the calm before the storm though LOL)
Take care xxx.0 -

.
Mrs T, It might be something simple like a hair caught under the key, (mine was a dog hair  ), try hoovering the keyboard, but BEWARE, put an old pair of tights over the hoover nozzle while doing it, or you might end up sucking your keys up. x0 -
Or unclip the key and do a visual check for foreign bodies.!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
Trying not to waste food!:j

Thankyou very much,It was a shortbread crumb.I feel realy stupid now.I've learned my lesson though, not to stuff my face whilst on here. Thanks again,I would never of dreamed it would be something so simple.0 -
:hello: Good morning!
Mioliere - Thank you so much for the reminder re last posting dates, I haven't managed to get many cards written yet and was worried about when the last day for posting by 2nd Class was. I don't want to end up posting them all by !st Class as happened a few years ago
AussieLass - hope you manage to cool down at some point!
MSD and Nelski - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Stefejb - LOL at your DGS deciding he'd been good, bless him! BTW, I was remembering the song they used to sing for St Nicholas Day at the kindergarten my DDs went to in Belgium when they were little. but I don't know the words properly so I wonder if you do? It begins "Sinteklaasje, Rom bom bom". io think the last bit was "Koi wat in mijn laarzje, Dank U Sinteklaasje!" I'm hoping children in Dutch familes sing the same one. I'd love to teach it to the DGKs. Please pm me if you can help. (Apologies if I've got any spelling wrong....:o )
Redruby - Great news about the payrise!
Mrs_mix - so sorry you are not well (((HUGS)))
tired mum - hope you and your Mum had a lovely lunch (and found somewhere to sit!)
((((HUGS)))) to all in need of them.
Didn't sleep well so got up earlier than usual. DH was quite restless - he seemed to be having some very odd dreamsAt least the DW went on early! Dinner will be chicken curry as we had roast chicken on Sunday and DS wasn't here so there's even more lovely meat left over than usual! So probably chicken sandwiches for lunch as well:drool:
All for now, I'm off to catch up on yesterday's thread and also see if I can raise Churchmouse. I'd better not ring her in case she's driving so I'll hope she hears the txt arrive!
Best wishes

DD2 is in a xmas concert tonight and she has a solo part playing the saxaphone. i am so excited and so nervous for her as its the first time she will have performed in front of people
:bdaycake: to Diva and Nelski i hope you both have a lovely day xx
(((hugs))) to all poorlies /sad
have a good day everyone0 -
Oh, happy birthday Diva and Nelski!
Think dd3 is going to survive, we are now watching cbeebies karaoke! Perhaps I haven't got a cold after all, and it's just her singing giving me a headache lol!
All dds' have now had breakfast and are sounding bunged up, they are all snuggled under fleecy blankets on the sofas.
Right best get on with making them some soup for their lunch and tackle the washing up - still not sorted out the dw and its blocked pipes!
Oh, on the bright side, boilerman came out yesterday evening just before I left for work, the fan in broken, apparently cheap part and easy and quick to install a new one. Finger's crossed that it sorts out the problem and we have warmth for Christmas!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
