Afternoon all:D
Am busy trying to clean this sty and get my decs up, very half heartedly I must say:rolleyes:
Have just had a letter with the amount the DWP are paying towards my mortgage, and it's not enough.Sometimes I wish I was renting then they'd pay the full amount, as my mortgage is a pittance but I will find it hard to make up the short fall on benefits
OS wise i'm cleaning, making a cinammon loaf for my friend and making soup.
HUGGLES to all in need today, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MSD and NELSKI:j :j"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Hello darlings!!
Just popping in to say thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes!!!
Am having a lovely day but not really spending any time on here... (am too busy eating Viennese truffles and cheesecake...:rotfl: :rotfl: )
Normal service will be resumed tomorrow!!
love and hugs to all

Boston baked beans in slow cooker I have impressed myself.
I also got mustard powder all over a pale grey sweater. I suspect that this is the end of the sweater - any suggestions? I suppose there is always dye. Except I can't think of any dye that dratted mustard won't work through in blotches. Sigh. It was actually a nice sweater, and one of my few bought ones. I am going to have to save them for when I take little bear to play group so that people don't think that I am odder than they already think I am. No-one there seems to knit at all.
Otherwise, not good day. But better and better all the time.
Hugs to all, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those celebrating.
Lame Wolf - I hope you manage to get out to D&D. I had a session with dear heart last night and it was a lot of fun.
I sprinkled evil cat with water to try and get access to my mouse. She was so traumatised that she left me alone for an entire 5 minutes.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Tru - have a great day! (We forget ours almost every year - we met on my birthday, so that's what we consider our anniversary). Don't you think it's time we had an 'anniversary' icon on here?!
Happy Birthday to MSD and Nelski!:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Sistercas - you must be very proud.
Well, must go and get ready to pick DGS up from school. It's really foggy out so I hope I can see where I'm going! It's really cold, too, but I've put the heating on so that DGS doesn't get cold!
I walked up to the Post Office today and spent more than £10 on parcels!
See you later. More (((hugs))) for all the poorlies.

Hello everyone:hello:
Thanks for the text ivyleafI wasn't driving, and
to Aussie I wasn't asleep either. I also have not run away with the milkman  ( Have you seen the local milkie:eek: No hair, and hardly any teeth:rotfl: )
I was typing a reply much earlier, but DIL and DGS2 arrived earlier than expected so I had to abandon it. She and DS2 wanted to do a food hamper for my Dad for Christmas, so I went along in the role of advisor. We got lots of indulgent goodies for him, along with a tipple or two. I'm going to assemble it for them because apparently I have artistic talents:rolleyes: :rotfl:
OS has been patchy chez Churchmouse, it's such a busy time of year. Have got the tree in, and it smells wonderful. Might even get to decorate it properly tonight. So far it only has white lights:D I'm very simple at heart (Aussiedon't go there) and would be happy to leave it at that with the star on top, but the DSs and DGSs prefer it more laden:D So it will be glitter and glam, and lots of chocolate, and I'll still love it.
Got the Christmas lunchclub tomorrow, so that will be a full, very tiring day, but very worthwhile ( I'll remind myself of that frequently tomorrow, when I crawl out on hands and knees:rotfl: )
Best dash, got to make mince pies, and haven't even thought about dinner tonight. Freezer surprise again:o
Congrats to those celebrating today, although in the case of the trus, that will be Mr tru on his own then:rotfl:

Good afternoon all
Hugs to all the poorly ones - seems to be a fair few about this year.
DD1 coughed the night through but wasn't awake enough for medicine - I tried several times to no avail, but she insisted on going to school today to take part in some class fashion show and to collect her extra merits for translating 2 Latin stories (no idea why she's so good at Latin but it's clicked for her). She handed out her xmas pressies yesterday - some of the girls weren't impressed with HM pressies - their loss, DD put in a lot of effort and they looked fab.
Made a sausage and bacon cassarol with a dumpling topping for dinner last night - was yummy....just had the left overs for my lunch. Chicken soup tonight, made from the stock from the SC (used homemade apricot wine to cook the chicken in - was a lovely flavour)....made some soda bread last night so will have some of that with it.
All housework is upto date so I'm going to treat myself to a couple of hours sit down with some sewing.
Wannabe - Try a squirt of washing up liquid on your jumper before you wash it.....it never seems to fail to get stains out for me....something to do with breaking down the enzyms I think.
This site was mentioned on the "celebrations" board - I've had a good look through - some lovely stuff there....
