    Evening all :santa2:
I am late again, its been a pig of a day weather wise, foggy, freezing cold, and damp.

But otherwise its been a lovely day. I met up with the people I used to work with, for their Christmas meal, as I said yesterday they always ask me to go with them, its really nice of them, and I enjoy catching up with all the doings and gossip.
2 of us are retired now and a 3rd is due to finish next June so that will be another celebration ;) more bottles to be drunk "sigh" well one has to be sociable :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway we had a real nice meal, mexican this time in Birminghams Arcadian centre, it was yummmmm and so filling :D
Did some shopping after and managed to get my knitting needles size 12mm....they look like telegraph poles.....OH took one look and said "watch what you're doing with them you'll have my eye out":rotfl:

Needless to say OH has done his own Dinner tonight, very taxing....beans on toast.....his favourite.

Off out again at 7.30 to some friends for a glass or 3....I sound like a real drinker.....I'm not really its the time of year ;)

Happy aniversary to Mr/Mrs tru, hope you enjoyed your day
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Nelski and Diva :bdaycake:

I'd just settled down to do a bit of knitting & the phone rang, it was SIL, his babysitter has let him down & DD is at work, so I'm off there just after 8, still I should be home by 11 & I need to be up before 6 to get hubby to the station, much as I love my grandchildren I really hope they are asleep as it's been a long day today already.
    Hugs Hester

Finally managed to get most of the Christmas presents wrapped up and will post the cards tomorrow.

Two loads of washing were put on the line outside but did not dry at all.

Made cooked brekkie for DD to spoil her a bit now she is home.

DD(14) has just told me she needs a couple of extra presents by tomorrow evening for her friends so will have to get a lift to York or somewhere.

DD(19) is difficult to buy for but has decided she could use some pyjamas so have ordered a set from LaSenza as a surprise for Christmas.

Dried peas are soaking ready for me to make a pea soup in the slow cooker tomorrow and have made some home made bread rolls for tomorrow as well.

    Hugs to everybody feeling poorly.

Can we postpone christmas please....I need at least another week added to it :rotfl:
OS wise its only been me here today, so no dinner cooked, no washing up to do. WM did its thing while I was at work and its all over the rads drying now.

Really do need to do a big clean up, working full time the last two weeks has let it all slip but not going to beat myself up about it, got family chistmas dinner on sunday as as long as the food is ok, don't think anyone will notice the cobwebs lol

Hope it all goes ok for your mum tomorrow Vicky

  • Evening Chums ,had a lovely afternoon at craft club even though I was sneezing for England ,second day of cold and hopefully it will dry up a bit tomorrow .Went to my DD's for dinner and gave Ben his new fishing rod.He had a great birthday, as his other Granny whom he only see's once in a blue moon sprung for a new guitar for him, so he is a happy boy. Even his sister who fights like cat and dog with him, bought him a Liverpool football club necklace for him. My DD made a terrific chocolate cake in the shape of a catterpillar, complete with feet and 13 candles spelling out his age on it.
It's her birthday on Friday so I may spring for a fish and chip supper for us all to save her cooking. They only ever have a take away on their birthdays.
My poor schnozzle is glowing bright red at the moment, and my nose is running faster than Kelly Holmes.Tried everything to dry it up ,to no avail
still it will stop eventually I suppose.
Only 9 more days to go so I have just got to get rid of this cold, my voice sounds very husky, so I am sucking strepsils by the box.In future when i say 'Oh I haven't had a cold for 18 months' I must remember to keep me gob shut and not tempt fate:rotfl: Perhaps a good dollop of Gordons and tonic may help;) Tomorrow I am hoping to stay indoors by the fire, and spoil myself with some comfort food. I must feel better by Thursday as I'm off to the cinema at Bluewater and lunch with my pal. Can't miss that .I am tempted to buy a remoska whilst I'm there, as I live alone would a medium one do, or should I invest in the larger one. and is it worth the while having one I have a SC that I use quite a lot. I don't use my oven an awful lot as it fitted quite low down and I have problems bending and I thought with a remoska I could use it on the top of my kitchen units, any thoughts chums.
I've got a cheque from my late husbands lodge for Christmas and I usually spend it on something new for the kitchen. Are they very heavy? as I have a problem lifting things at the moment as I've not a lot of stregth in my right arm.Well time to toddle of to bed,Hope everyone has a peaceful one

Just wanted to pop in to say thanks to all my lovely OS friends for your kind birthday wishes:j :j They did mean a lot.:A

Had a really really great day - lunch at the local pub with my bessy mate and my folks then back to my house where 2 other lots of friends and their familys came by for birthday drinks:o (will need a christmas wine shop again now but what the heck eh)

Got some lovely thoughtful pressys (not one gift set:j :j ) although a couple my friends were a bit confuzzled at how excited I got with a diamond knife sharpener my brother got for me - I blame you lot for that, I need a good sharp knife for making my OS concoctions and this one is fab:D. I also got a decorative bird cage ( I know I know but I wanted one:o ) 2 handbags (:j :j a girl cant have too many eh :D ) a jar for money saving (mmm could blame you lot for this as well:D ) and some gorgeous candles, flowers and money from my folks. So all in all I consider myself a very fortunate Nelski tonight:o :o

Not one scrap of OS went on today (looking at the clock its probably yesterday now) so I had better scarper quick sharp

Thanks for all your pms re my missing status - I just didnt feel I fitted in with OS anymore but after today I maybe need to rethink. Thanks to my friends on here you are lubbly.

Right its not my birthday anymore so Id best think about christmas now i guess:eek:

    Hugs to all as ever

  • I'm having a problem with the letter v on my keyboard, having to press it over and over again before it'll come out.Anyone know what to do to stop this.

This probably isn't the best way to clean my keyboard, but I turn it over, key side down and gently whack it on the desktop. Amazes me how much stuff comes out of there each week even though I hoover it weekly. :rotfl:

If it's sticky like a liquid got spilled in it, you can pull the key off with a small crochet hook and then carefully clean it with some rubbing alcohol on a cotton bud. Just make sure it's unplugged first. The alcohol dries fairly quickly too.

I'm starting to scare myself now. I really must get more of a life. ;)
