Im not sure why people are hung up on 'the first direct debit payment' - I thought the conditions said they take this within 7 days of the policy application or approval or something. so I cant imagine its that long from when you receive the pack surely!!0

My wife and I have both joined Cannons successfully (on the 1st March) and they still haven't taken either of our DD's yet....
Just went to Cannons, filled in membership and got an unactivated member card. Then rang Pruhealth with Cannons member ID and my PruHealth ID and they activated it over the phone.
Thanks to the OP for this as we'd been toying with joining for a while but at these rates it was an easy decision0 -
Im STILL waiting for my pack, although they took the DD about a week ago
MIght have ring them up and have a moan me thinks!

I signed up for the three months free Holmes place membership last week. Its been a pain in the backside since then because as I was trying to activate membership they said that I opted for the boots vouchers which i clearly didnt. A complaint has been logged and now i have to wait another week until they get back to me.....has anyone else had problems with the three months free offer?"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

I rang up PruHealth this morning to find out when I could cancel my cover (as my six months will be up soon), a Indian chap named Jamie said you have to give 10 days notice before your next bill date, AND also said that they may bill me for the six months membership at Holmes Place (that was supposed to be free!) if I cancel the Pru cover within 6 months!!!
I argued that this was not mentioned when I took the cover out, but he pleaded ignorance and said it was in the terms and conditions....
Can anyone verify that this is in the terms and conditions??? Or has anyone cancelled already? (I took my policy out in Feb...).
Thanks in advance!

i am almost certain that this was not in the terms and conditions, and i think martin must've verified the "cancel anytime without penalty" thing cos he mentioned it specifically in his email tip (and he posted it in the official insert if you go back to the very first message in this thread).
i will be alongside you screaming blue murder if they try to pull this one...0 -
Any updates on this problem?
I missed out on this deal, but went through with the quote anyway to see how much it would have cost and it came out at £17.
Then earlier today a guy phoned me and asked if I was still interested in the cover. I told him no as I was only doing it for the free 6 months gym membership and he said they were now doing it again, but only via the phone.
He ran through the t&c's pretty fast so i asked him to send the paperwork out so i can check it out before I sign up, but I'm pretty pleased at getting it for £17 if it all works out ok!
He is calling back on Monday to go through it so I will ask him if other people can call him and get the deal. If he says yes I will leave his details here so everyone else can get in on it!
Might be worth going through the quote online in the meantime to see what rate you get. you never know, you might get a call too!
