Any quiche left for me? Oh, hang on, can't eat it at the moment (am diligently sticking to my CV detox and feeling great) but let me know next time you make one and I'll pop round for a little slice, if I may
CQ - fab about the driving. You'll be whizzing about all over the place in next to no time now0 -

You've almost got there with the pics, well done :T ... the next bit to make it appear in your post is to click on the little postcard icon on the tool bar and a dialogue box appears, where you then paste in the link you typed above and press ok ... and voila! your pic is in your post!

Happy birthday Lillibet! Pretty please can you update your avatar with a new piccie of Spud??? Jellyhead's LO was born round about the same time as yours and she's recently updated her avatar to a lovely (recent) pic of her two boys.
P-P your quiche looks delicious.
C-Q I don't know what's got into you lately - you've come over all... confident and adventurous
Hangover has finally lifted  - worst one I've had in years, but the process of bringing it upon myself was quite enjoyableRemind me never to drink wine and vodka in the same session again  even if it is all paid for by my bosses...
This week has been a monumental fall off the MSE wagon, with THREE (count'em) £5 takeaway lunches, one pub dinner with beers, a trip to the cinema WITH POPCORN and NO proper home cooking at all. The most OS thing I did was pick up some reduced meat and veggies, so that'll be tomorrow's casserole. Can't afford to live like this foreverAm taking friend out to a restaurant tonight but that's been in the budget for ages. Weekend should be fairly cheap as I'm going to an opera matinee tomorrow (cheapo standing ticket is already paid for) and saw same show last time it was running so won't need a programme, just a free cast sheet. No other plans for the weekend so shouldn't really need to spend anything, other than a few quid worth of groceries and my weekly treat of a Pret a Manger breakfast on way to church choir practice on Sunday morning  Saturday evenings at home are normally spent listening to the weekly opera broadcast on Radio 3 - but tomorrow's broadcast is just a compilation of lots of Mozart bits and pieces (it's his 250th birthday this month - LOL) so might listen to CDs instead while cleaning and tidying.

Not sure about the confident bit yet as I'm still a bag of nerves every time I step out the door, but I'm beginning to learn that nothing terrible <touch wood> is going to happen to me if I do, so it is getting a little easier
When I've actually achieved something I wonder why I made such a fuss about doing it in the first place... what is it they say? ... there's no gain without pain

At last I've been able to get on here!
Lillibet - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P-P - Can you make me a quiche and send it up? No-one except me likes it so it's kind of a bad idea to make one since I have to eat it all myself. Then again... No, I won't make one. I need to think of my waist
C-Q - Yay, well done you!!!!
Hope all sick ones get better soon - jelly seems to cure my DD when she's sick. It doesn't matter whats up with her, once she's had a jelly (or 3 if she can manage it) she's fine
As for me, I've had a reasonably OS day today  DD has gone to school with her packed lunch and has been invited to her friends birthday party in March and around to the girls house next week after schoolI know the little girls dad quite well (we went to school together) so I'm fine with it. Haven't told OH yet though  OH has gone off to work with his packed lunch too but I haven't seen him online all day. Starting to wonder if the internet is down at his work place again. At least, I hope thats what wrong!
Me, I spent 40 minutes on the net this morning after taking DD to school and then I set about baking  So far I have 2 loaves supposidly rising (made by hand, no BM here), 2 very flat chocolate cakes which were to make a layer cake but I forgot to put the baking powder in () so we'll be having them with custard as a pudding one night
Another, more successful pair of chocolate cakes and in the oven (and due out within the next 10 minutes) is a spiced prune cake :drool::drool: always a big hit in this house. I still have just about all the ingrediants to make more cakes but I want to get the bread in the oven while I do the school run. Then I might bake a few more cakes :shhh:
Right, off to put the washing up away. how we go through so many pans I don't knowCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Happy Birthday Lillibet!! Hope you have a lovely day and get pampered lots and lots!!!
Way to go C_Q!!! How lovely for you to be able to broaden your horizons a little - keep up the good work.
PP - Yum!! Looks lush and I'm not normally a quiche fan. Well done too on getting the pic uploaded.
Oh yuk - pukey kids!! What am I letting myself in for??? DH and I have an agreement - I'll do mucky nappies and he'll do sick clearing!! LOL cant see it working but hey.
Funny old day here - mum's had to come up to Newcastle to start her new trial drug, so dad had to drive her up as far as the metro centre (the only place they can get to other than my house) I met them there, parked their car there for the day (no charge - very MS) drove them into the city, got back in time for a quick install of the broadband - only to discover that BT STILL havent activated it yet!!! Then, back out to pick M & D up again, drop them at their car, and finally just got back home. Mind you, did stop for petrol and then called in to the egg man's to get some... well, eggs!!
Cant believe that cos Ncle hospital has no beds for at least 5 more days, and home didnt have any ambulances available that dad had to bundle her into his car and drive all the way up (about 1 1/2 hours) with a bag full of medication to administer as and when needed!! Anyway, alls well for the time being, she's on the new drug and on her way back to hospital at home. So we can all breathe easy again for a little while. Families hey, who'd have em!!
Got the outlaws coming for the weekend tonight, so planning a lovely walk along the beach tomorrow with fish and chips from the wrappers for lunch, and maybe homemade pizza for tea. Sunday's ear marked for shopping - maybe for baby stuff, maybe not - see how I feel.
Have a lovely rest of day all, and be good.I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
Hi
CQ-Ive tried doing that, but when I click OK-it just puts that link in
Think its just me and computers...are not meant to be:D
Cleaner has just gone, so home all clean and sparkly. Done another washload which needs sticking on airer, but dont know how Im going to do it as OH cant lift much and this is a superking duvet cover and sheet..LOL.
DD will be home soon and will not be impressed with her room-as she has to tidy it. She seems to have such an attitude on her ATM. It seems to have worsened since she took her 11+ in November 2005. She is adament that she is going to grammar school and has her heart set on this one particular school. I keep trying to say...what if you dont etc...but she does just says...thats where she is going!!! Really dont know what to do. I hope she does get to go (i think she is borderline)and think she is bright enough, but you never know, and the percentage needed in our borough is set very high to pass. She was fine with her SATS last year and came in the top 8%-but these 11+ are very weirdly set out IYKWIM....well either she does or she doesnt!! Cant do anything more about it, but the waiting is killing me....and going to be killing my DD if she continues:p wont find out till 1st March 2006-so 6 weeks...gosh is that all??? It is a difficult time for both kids and parents at these times. Oh......and also.....the Gerbil has escaped:eek: cant find her anyway, but the window was open slightly..so I think...another one bites the dust. OH is going to have a more thorough look when he gets back.
He has to go back to the oestiopath on wednesday and is not looking too good. His disc/discs is/are pressing on his nerves in the spine and it looks like he may have done some serious damage. Cost was £18, but we get half back through HSA-so not too bad, but may need about 5-10 treatments:eek: He is not allowed to lift anything ATM and needs to try and rest to relax his muscles, as they are all spasmed (is that a word?). So the next few days will be interesting-between OH & I...it will be like the crip leading the crip:rotfl:
KiwiChick-How did the driving lesson go?
Thanks for all the lovely comments about the quiche and yes it tasted lovely. There is only about 2 portions left as OH has been scoffing it...well and me:o
Egg & HM chips for dinner and some bread and butter-very OS.
Anyways, got to go and make a few calls.

Hello everyone
Happy birthday Lillibet!
Glad everyone's back & all is ok today! Well, apart from those with ill ones to deal with (reminds me of our Boxing day visit - spent with our DD & littlies, the toddler had gastro enteritis, as did DDs OH. The baby was ok, so were we & DD but not much fun all the same. It was good to be able to be around for DD, cos it would have been really miserable for her on her own.)
DS had his Saturday job today (boss is not working tomorrow) so I had a couple of hours on my own. After doing the usual jobs, I decided to clear out the kitchen drawers. You know the ones, the place where the broken screwdriver lives (the main one that gets used even though DH has an army of super duper ones) where the scissors & pencils & junk and bits of paper and where other people dump the bits they cut off of milk cartons - cos the scissors are there. So now the kitchen is full of junk. Can so much junk really live in just 2 drawers?
Dinner is in SC: sausage casserole.
ps: MATH, can I be really cheeky & ask for your list of paid-to-clicks too? I did the accounts yesterday & could do with a bit of a boost in the income column.0
