Hi JW,
With the breadmaking it's all a bit experimental I'm afraid, somedays it rises more than others lol. I have found that the super strong flours make the best bread, but they are more expensive to buy, but IMHO, worth the extra. Try buying the allinson yeast in the big packs, about 99p and I find if kept in an airtight jar lasts for at least a months worth of breadmaking. I also at this time of year find I get a better rise if I use hand hot water in the BM.
Hi to PP, gald to see you are posting, as you inspire me to get on with things everyday!
Now I really must get on.:rotfl:

I'm here elona, just not got around to posting here yet today
Got a rude awakening at 8.15am by DS as he'd missed the school bus and wanted ME to drive him to school - in DAYLIGHT!!! and in the rush hour traffic!!! <mega gulp> ... well, I did it :j :j :j ... but have you ever tried driving with jelly legs!!! :rotfl:
Done a washload this morning and it's now hanging on the line blowing in the breeze :jBM is on and about to finish and the smell is making me feel VERY hungry! Think we'll have bacon sarnies for lunch now I've dug out my GF grill, and probably burgers and salad for dinner. Actually, thinking about, I could brown off some sausages on there to put in the SC and make a sausage hotpot for dinner tomorrow
Hope everyone is well and we can all get back to "normal" whatever that is LOL!
Take care everyone *hugs*"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Hi, Quick post while I slurp me Minestrone cos I'm uber-busy today. Did very little yesterday (thanks to all who have posted and PM'd Hugs) so having to play catch up today. Mrs MATH forgot her reading glasses so I also had to trundle off and deliver them to her which has also put me up against the clock.
Better busy than board tho! Paid2clicks done and half the house spotless (the other half I'm going to tackle now).
Glad to see the OS board back to normal. Moaning and LOLing in equal measure. Off to clean the kitchen/listen to Alvin Hall on Jeremy Vine (forgive me for mentioning the demon Alvin on this board) hehehe
May catch ya later

Good afternoon all
The dizzy heights of tesco this morning - I only went expecting to spend around £25 as the freezer is well stocked and the cupboards are too - but low and behold the bill was £67. I did however make a £11.95 saving in bogofs and offers. They had a range of frozen producuts on 5 for a fiver....including the Richmond Irish Sausages that we all like. They're normally £1.99 a bag so to buy 5 bags for a fiver was actually a good saving. I also picked up some fold away rain macs for DD's as they'd grown out of the ones I got 2 years ago - they'd been reduced to £3 each, added to that 10 pairs of white ankle socks for £4. A set of storage tubs - 5 different sized microwavable ones for £2.46 and a phone top up all added to the cost but all necessary (but not necessarily this week).
Tonights dinner is last nights (can't call it left overs because it never got started). I made a gammon and veg soup, added barley and it was yum, served with a pizza dough that I left to rise and then oven baked...nice and crispy. I'd done jacket potatoes too as the soup wasn't plentiful but the bread made up for it. So tonight will be jacket spuds with HM colslaw (cabbage reduced today to 13p) Tuna mayo (tuna bogof) and baked beans for dd2.
We're celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary tomorrow (well technically it was last weekend but we had inlaws so didn't bother doing anything special) So tomorrow night DD's have been told - early night and no bothering us - I'm digging out the best china, the gorgeous champange flutes we got as a wedding pressie, the best table cloth and I might even go to town and put on a dress. The menu is prepaired, Avacado and bacon salad to start, HM cheese and garlic stuffed chicken breasts, wrapped in bacon and oven baked, served with garlic and thyme roast new pots and pan roasted cherry toms with basil. Followed by a tub of bailys haagen daaz. All washed down with a bottle of champers (christmas gift). Sometimes you have to just push the boat out and have a special evening....
And no - before you all ask - you can't come!
Working in a bit so need to go push a hoover round and dig out the play dough.
Hugs to all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hello everyone!
I didn't post on here yesterday but did read the thread.
PP so glad you posted hon! ((((((((HUG))))))))
Queenie if you read this - thinking of you and hope things will improve for you very soon. Although I'm new to the thread I really look forward to your posts. You're such a kind lady! and inspirational too ((((((((HUG))))))))
JW have a lovely time with your breadmaker! I was thinking of getting one but decided we didn't eat enough bread to warrant it, but I bought a SC instead which I'm really pleased with.
Johanne So sorry about the house! But I bet just the right one will come up unexpectly.
Hope all those poorly children get better fast! I recall once my DD2, who was about 8yrs old at the time, was very poorly and I asked for the doc to call as DD wasn't well enough to be taken to the surgery. By the time the doc reached us it was 8 hours later, and DD had perked up and was demanding food. The doc asked why on earth I'd asked for a home visit and I explained that DD had been much iller at the time, but I don't think she believed me! I had rung the surgery and told them DD seemed better, but no mobile phones in those days so they couldn't get hold of the doctor to tell her not to call.
Have got a beef stew in the SC, and am now going to stand in a long queue at the Post Office. All the local sub-post offices have been closed, so the queue at the main one is always out the door! Think I'll take my stick-stool with me.
Best wishes to everyone and I hope you all have a good day

MATH,2 questions, what are paid2clicks and why shouldn't Alvin Hall be mentioned?-is just because he's not Martin or is his advice not good?I'm just wondering
My dd seems better,in fact I think she should be at school, but she's behaving herself and not annoying me,which is ,frankly unusual for her
Glad to see Penny-Pincher back :j0 -
