I told our close family what I wantedthat way I know what I am getting and I won't get doubles of stuff.
So my brother is buying a bouncy chair, one SIL is buying a bath set and another SIL is buying a play-gym (must let her know about the asda baby event).
Both MIL and my mum said things about moses baskets and prams and cots but we just bought them anyway, if they want to help they can give us some cash toward them (or maybe buy the cot between them).
I am never normally supersticious and I don't hold with tradition either so they are all used to me going around things the 'wrong way' :rotfl:
...and that's why everyone thinks it is hilarious that I won't finish work on Friday 13th!!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

I also got lots of people buying bigger sizes "because everyone will get u newborn" only everyone had the same idea and I had a son who was on the small side so when summer came around I had a pile of lovely clothes that fit him perfectly but were all winter warm stuff so that got given to friends/ebayed too
Ps. I'm not superstitious (about that bit) either its all in the house now anyway coz it is/was being used by Chris0 -
MrsT - Thinking of you ((((HUGS))))
Jams - Good luck with your appointment, hope its nothing to worry about - but its always better to get things checked out to put your mind at rest.
AM - Sorry to hear your your thread was hijacked, it seems to be happening more and more on MSE. It breaks my heart when people ask questions, sometimes in dire financial/personal situations and some stupid b*****ds take over.
PLEASE BE WARNED, RANT ALERT!
I am in such a bad mood this morning  . I noticed a few days ago that part of our fridge didn't seem as cool as the rest eventhough the temperature display says it is 3 degrees. Phoned Comet to get an engineer out (£29 callout charge then £44 an hour + parts:eek: ). As soon as I said the model number of the fridge I was told this was a "known fault with Samsung" and to ring them direct, which I did. She said that that type of fridge came under a 5 year warranty (It is an American fridge freezer and we have only had it for 2.5 years) Apparently, after googling the problem and finding a thread on here about it too, Watchdog did an investigation on it last year, so Samsung will replace the parts free of charge hopefully and engineer will come out on monday.
I have now had to throw away most of the contents of the fridge (Milk, cheese, yogurts, mousses, fish that was for my tea  etc.) And now I have nothing to eat, DH won't be home till 6.30 so it will be cereal bars and fruit until then!
I have had a little cry, and feel a little better now. I am just so emotional and moody at the moment, it seems like everything is going wrong at the moment (there is family stuff going on too, sick family members, washing machine on the blink etc.) It is my husbands birthday soon, I really want to go away for a few days to recharge our batteries, but we probably can't afford to either. The fridge freezer might be a simple fix but DH had a look and it's got him beat so we'll see if we try and get it fixed or buy a new oneUnfortunately the one we want is out of stock everywhere grrrrrr

Its still has comets 12 month waranty and its Hoover 5 year Guarantee!! Woohoo.:rotfl: The site also does laptops and fridges etc!
