I had a white wedding. Catholic service, then a sit down meal. Only had 40 guests, and I think total cost was £3,000. Was a lovely day, very quiet and peaceful. I got stonking drunk and fell asleep at 9pm!

We'd been engaged for quite a while, but once we bought a house, we organised the wedding in about 6 weeks. Usually you have to give the priest 6 months notice, but he made an exception for us. He didn't mind me not being Catholic, but we had to go to mass three times!

My Brother is getting married in September, and he is planning the wedding. Its going to be a very posh and very expensive affair. I shall feel a bit out of place being there, he is marrying into a very nice but frightfully posh family.

I still can't believe I've been married for 4 years now. Its our 8 year anniversary in March!

And on a more baby note, feeling better now. He is moving loads and I feel a lot more relaxed. Was probably a combination of things - a bit run down at the moment, and had a nasty burn last night. Hopefully blood pressure will get better soon.

Had a good chat with my Mum today about breastfeeding. She was a breastfeeding counsellor for over 200 women over the years, and can only remember two ladies who wanted to BF but who couldn't manage. All other ladies suceeded. Some found it hard, but with help they all managed. Feel reassured by that. If any of you ladies want to BF and struggle - make sure you get support!

I spent a bit more than Sami but was at a lovely hotel and nothing religious in sight :) We had the people there who mattered to us so although not massive it wasn't tiny either - was great being able to have a party with everyone we know, and I'm afraid I always wanted my white wedding... I wanted to look pretty even if it was just for one day... Glad I did it too :) It was such a great day and I love looking at the pictures :)
The venue looks lovely on ur pics not as lovely as you n ur OH obviously :D
but I hope you agree that on my cheepie day I looked good too?
I had an ivory dress from bhs wedding shop and due to the combined sale, voucher code and staff incompetence it only cost me £35 :T most expensive thing of the day was me! :p Tan, haircut n colour then style on the day and make up took a scarily large ammont of the budget!
I have a complicated family and hubby has a million cousins (I only have 1 real one) so we decided it would just me close family and friends, 21 guests in total and the reception was held at his Mum n dads house/garden

    oh those talking about MATB1 earlier the offical line is;
"medical evidence of the date when your baby is due. This is normally on the maternity certificate, form MATB1, given to you by your doctor or midwife no earlier than 20 weeks before the week your baby is due."
I asked the MW after my scan if I could have it (I was 19+2 then) and she said they can't issue one until you have reached 20wks exactly.
MWs never think about it so once ur 20 wks ask them. our surgery are happy to leave a note for MW on their fancy computers so they will fill it in and leave on reception so you don't need to use up an appointment just for getting the form
My midwife wouldnt give me one until 22 weeks.

I keep wondering if I should join or not, have not yet discussed this pregnancy with my consultant to see if its safe for me to procede or not, but right now I am pregnant and regardless of the outcome I have the morning sickness to prove it.

congrats tiamai - I found out late last night that I'm pregnant but didn't believe the test so went to the chemist and got another one this PM, feeling very nervous, last year I lost a baby and had to go into hospital and have a procedure and just praying that this doesn't happen again - once I get to 12 weeks I will relax abit but 6 weeks seems so far away at the mo plus I'm still in shock

    welcome to the newly pregnant..

glad all is ok with feely

elle: since you know about paternity leave, can a man take 2 weeks annual leave from work when the baby is born and still claim the gov. paternity pay? or can they only get that if they are unpaid from work?

sami of course yours looked lovely too!!!!
as did you and your DH :)
My dress was a smidgen more... or was it... ;) See it cost I think it was £700, but I had actually won £1000 on the birdseye be mortgage free competition which was the only reason I finally allowed myself that dress! when I found out I had won the money I went to the dress shop the same day and bought it! There and then! :D So it was "kinda" free :)

oh I know this one, you cannot receive both hol pay and pat pay at the same time

I'm pretty sure you can only get one or the other...
