Oh dear ladies, I'm feeling very guilty as to the cost of my wedding now!!! I had the whole big white wedding in church too :D We have been married for 1 year and 1 month and 2 days :D Not sure if that entitles us to call this baby a honeymoon baby or not?

Really tired today so spent most of teh day on the sofa - apart from when the firemen turned up in uniform in their truck as they were here this time to do a home safety check and register the oxygen canister. I took pictures to show hubby in case he didn't believe me - but can't work out the new camera and how to link in onto the computer :P I'm too tired I think!

Baby happily wriggling away all afternoon and seems happy where it is - Ladybird hope that project eviction is going well for you. No doubt its curry for dinner tonight :D

Mum and Dad have just called to say to expect a delivery next week - I think they've bought us a cot and some nursery furniture - how exciting :D

elle: since you know about paternity leave, can a man take 2 weeks annual leave from work when the baby is born and still claim the gov. paternity pay? or can they only get that if they are unpaid from work?

It's an either / or situation. Either you take two weeks of your hol entitlement and stay on full pay, or you have one or two consecuative weeks (but not one week, then go back for a bit then have another week off) on paternity pay. The majority of guys at our place do everything they can to avoid dropping down to SPP for two weeks!

We have guys who work shifts and do lots of shift swaps in advance then call the favours back in just after the birth to enable them to get the time off they want, or day engineers who get five weeks hol and then another 92 "credit hours" a year to use as they wish - two more 40hr weeks hol, usually. My OH is on this system so will be using his hols (I just get five weeks hol).
  • Sorry not had time to catch up. Just wondering if any of you had hCG beta's in early pregnancy??

as did you and your DH :)
My dress was a smidgen more... or was it... ;) See it cost I think it was £700, but I had actually won £1000 on the birdseye be mortgage free competition which was the only reason I finally allowed myself that dress! when I found out I had won the money I went to the dress shop the same day and bought it! There and then! :D So it was "kinda" free :)

    Thanks x
very handy to win that money when u did!!
I have nothing against spending more, just for us it was an unnecessary thing to spend lots on. One of my friends remortgaged her house to pay for wedding and had a 2grand dress  they struggle with their bills now because of it!

The main cost of ours was the sit down meal. If you've seen the photos of my family, you'd know that a decent dinner was not something unnecessary!

I bought my dress on eBay, was very cheap.

Photographer was pretty expensive, they always are.

Church was totally free though, as were flowers!
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.

I don't think anyone on here has, or at least they haven't mentioned it as far as I know in the 4 mths I've been here.
why do you ask? maybe we can help you find what u are looking for :D

Re baby surnames...we put ds1 into dads name straightaway as I knew we would get married eventually. When I fell pregnant with ds2 we already had a holiday booked for Cyprus when I would be 7mths pregnant, so we decided to get married whilst we were out there. It was fantastic and as cost very little for the wedding I think it was £150 we arranged it ourselves, as our hotel didn't do a wedding package, and I didn't want to change hotels. My wedding dress was a prom dress from dorothy perkins, cost about £50 (can't remember exactly) I had to get 2/3 sizes bigger for my bump and had it taken in at the top as it was strapless and would have fallen down:eek:

My pelvic bone and the area just under bump is in agony latley, it takes me twice as long to walk anywhere and I am in pain whilst doing so...is this spd?? My friend is going to borrow me her pregnancy support belt as I really can't be bothered going to and fro to the hospital for physio appointments etc.. BUT do you think I should tell the midwife anyway, I am there in two weeks??

    Mel x

congrats tiamai - I found out late last night that I'm pregnant but didn't believe the test so went to the chemist and got another one this PM, feeling very nervous, last year I lost a baby and had to go into hospital and have a procedure and just praying that this doesn't happen again - once I get to 12 weeks I will relax abit but 6 weeks seems so far away at the mo plus I'm still in shock

Congrats to you too! I hope it all goes well this time!

Luckily I have never miscarried, I did bleed early on with DS2 and remember how scary that was. My problem is later on, pre ecclampsia. Last time was horrific and I was warned not to let it hppene again, so I went and got the minera coil and as far as I was concerned it was working fine. Found out on wednesday that its not there anymore and in it's place is a nice healthy pregnancy. I feel so sorry in a way that thsi has happened to me when I was not palnning on it and so many have lost or just cant have babies. But, if it is decided that I can procede with thsi one, it will be very much loved seeing as how it was so determined to be here it shoved Mummies coil out :rotfl:
Still, I do feel pretty relaxed and confident that it will go well, even if I'm trying not to get excited and not making a mental list of what we will need and how much I need to save....

sounds like a classic case of SPD! sorry hun, if you do want treatment its best to call MW ASAP coz some areas leave you waiting for a physio app for a week or two and it will prob get worse if you leave it,

Sounds like it, and yes tell your midwife. I wore a support but the main thing unfortunatly is rest as much as possible. It got really bad for me last time and I could even shift position in bed without crying so please take it as easy as possible.
Too many children, too little time!!!
