it being a bit shorter than Chris makes me think a girl as Chris is tall as is hubby and I'm 5' 3" so a bit on the short side

I would like to complete the set with a Girl but hubby thinks he saw a willy on the screen - although he is just a bloke with no experience of looking for willies on scans

Sami - glad your scan went well! Nice of that person to give you their parking ticket - we always try to pass ours along as well. Parking is sooo expensive!
MrsTine - oh I know! I want a cheeseburger now too! And it's about a 5 minute drive (or 20 minute walk). Trying to resist.....
I made DS a nice ham sandwich at lunch - he pulled all the meat out and ate the bread. Now he's walking about in circles saying "apple apple". Subtle. :rotfl:
As far as the birth bag - one thing I definitely brought along and used was chapstick! Sounds silly, but my lips are chapped a lot, and it really made a difference.
If you're looking for a snack during labour, can you snack on some raisins? Quick natural sugars for energy, easy to nibble a few, and it would probably help with that first bowel movement after birth.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

Ok, so I'm looking online for some maternity clothes, need at least a pair of jeans a pair of black trousers, some tshirt tops and a nice going outy top for when we go up to Scotland for OH's grandads retirement in Feb, cant bloody wait, I love it up there, especially the deep fried pizza suppers with chippy sauce
Sooooo can anyone point me in the direction of cheap places for mat clothes, there is sod all on ebay atm, seen some nice stuff on new look but half of it is not in stock :j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Speaking of which, what ARE the current ideas on food/drink during labour? Years ago, it was ice chips or nothing. When I had DS2, they were pushing me to eat something (a sandwich or light dinner of some sort) saying I would need the energy. I know years ago it was the big concern about aspirating during surgery under a general if there was an emergency. What have you been told?MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Congrats Sami - so glad it went well!
Have been watching the Birth Stories on Discovery Health (they are on really early, so set the Virgin box to record them).
Was in tears watching them last night - so beautiful! and Just as a big tear rolled down my face, Mr Pickle came home with a massive bunch of flowers for me... SO gorgeous!
I'm really looking forward to birth (I know it's a way off... I'm just shy of 14 weeks) and chatted to mum in detail about her pregnancies and births last night. I simply can't wait until we have a little one - we'll be a proper family!
Love to all, I'm off to catch up properly!

quite chilly out still with snow all over the place. i'm absolutely terrified of falling over. not the pain, just people seeing me do it.
thanks for the posts re the bags. i am going to make notes.
sami - thanks for the scan info and pics. i'm not sure what you meant about the 'soft markers'. as i'm about 10 weeks in front of you, i am a bit late in finding out what soft markers are aren't i?0
