Afternoon all,
I am fast approaching 22 weeks with twins. Anyone near 22 weeks and signed up to antenatal classes yet?
Just need some advice. Are these classes just rung by NCT? I vaguely looked into it a while back and remember seeing a price for them - I would have thought something like that was on the NHS and therefore free? :rolleyes:Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0 -

Ickle, my midwife gave me the details of the local NHS ones and told me to book in once I've had my 20weeks scan which is next week... When I'm 22 weeks!
Give the midwife a call, she should know what's available locally... I think I had to ask a couple of times when I was having Aimee before they let me know what was available but this midwife seems a bit better... Can I ask a question?
Has anyone's OH's been going on and on about having a boy or a girl?
Mr P keeps going on about having a boy. I think we're having a girl (gut feeling) and I'm starting to get anxious that he'll be disappointed.
For example he always says, 'he' or 'him' and it's getting beyond funny now. I knowhe's desperate for a boy, but what about a daughter? Whe he went shopping for little baby grows, he came back with blue.
He jokes about 'only producing male sperm'. It's really starting to get me down and making me dread that we might have a girl... and that's a horrible way to feel.
I've talked to him about it, but he seems to find it funny or not that serious a chat.
sorry ladies,it's really starting to worry me
ETA: of course he's said that he would be happy either way as long as the baby is healthy, but never talks about girl things...0 -

Last time I had to book myself on the classes but they were also free nhs ones.
best advice is ask ur MW before you decided to pay for nct ones0 -
I think that's a boy thing pickle, they can't seem to relate to girly things... Hubby always calls ours he and him (but then I think it's might be a blue one so I'm the same) But I just remind him every now and again that it's a 50/50 chance...

Ickle - Iam 20 weeks and no one has mentioned classes to me yet only b/f one but no idea as to when they are and where
.
I think as other people on here have said i think that no one is that interested in my baby its my first and such a personal and exciting experiance but they see pregnant people all the time.
On a lighter note just enjoyed a big mc for my lunch hubby is out tonight so was gonna be cooking for just little me so thought i would take full advantage. Baby seems to be loving it too getting loads of movement probably from the cold coke but if i convince myself the baby loves mcd then we can have it more often:heart2: Proud mummy to Ryan born 14.2.09 :heart2:0 -
I 'm getting pretty fed up with the way i am being treated by my local so called health care team! I went to docs on monday to book in and was told to come back next week but i had to go and take ds for jabs so i asked the nurse she said pg nothing to do with them so asked the front desk again and they said No they are still too busy today. But i said i am 6 weeks gone surley someone can spare 5 mins to do it. I had to wait but finally got it done. All it was was a case of me signing a form as i have to ring up sure start for a midwife myself.
Only to come home to find i am bleeding:eek: I has some bleeding the first week i found out i was pg then nothing but today i have had some pain my side now i am bleeding. It is red nothing on knickers but when i wipe.
I just feel so down about it has there is no one i can talk to and get advice.
I rang to see a midwife and the center said I can't get an apt until the end of the month i will be nearly 10 weeks how far gone we you lot for your first apt?
I told the center i really need to speak to a midwife or see one sooner as having few problems. So she gave me the main number for the clinic but said
there is only a midwife there between 9 and 10 in the morning:eek: I think thats awful how do you contact anyone if having problems?
I rang the number on the off chance and got the voicemail saying openning hours are 9 till 10 am and to leave a message and the midwife will ring back the next day or if it's an emerg got to A&E
I am not bleeding enough to go to A&E and im not in any pain now but it would have been nice to talk to a midwife about it.
I am upsetting myself now but i had to get it out. Feels like no one cares or wants to listen as what can they do anyway if i am losing the baby. Nothing. This is my signature!0 -
Little Pickle - I think it's been more me that's been thinking in terms of one sex for babies rather than DH. When I was pregnant with DS, I was sure it was a girl. I was not sure how to react after the 20wk scan when they said they thought (not sure) that it was a boy. But very quickly I was just happy the baby was healthy and not worried about boy or girl. With this pregnancy, we'd love a girl, but are perfectly thrilled to have a boy or girl. DH is really not fussed. Me, on the other hand, for some reason I keep calling the baby a "he" or "him" to DH's amusement. Not really a conscious effort though. But hey, the heartbeat today was 179 - and isn't the higher rate supposed to indicate possibly a girl?
Anyway, I'm sure your DH is just enjoying the possibilities, once you know for certain whether boy or girl, he'll most likely be thrilled either way.
