just had my NT scan. they are going to keep my dates i think, 13+6. all went well, NT measured 2.3mm so in the safe zone but have to wait for blood test results before they tell me the all clear!
Its funny cos I quite like keeping it a secret as no one knows except family, but next week we will be letting friends know as long as we get the all clear. Its funny cos a friend has announced she is PG only 5 days behind me and I had to bite my tongue to not tell her about me! but if I tell 1 I got to tell them all and OH kids need to be told 1st.
regarding the bump - its just a food bump i think at the moment! its not changed siance i started feeding +++ to keep away the MS!! - which has got better but still is with me.
Mrs T -is your sickness gone now?:j  :j0 -
I'm glad the scan went well Nicole
Telling people is the best bit - just remember no-one will want to talk about anything other than the baby from then onwards, so make the most of having conversations about anything else in the meantime!
It will be good to have a friend due around the same time as you too - getting support on here is fab, but I feel like I've really missed out on not having anyone who is pregnant (or even with young kids) that I know locally. I'm trying to find out about the NCT "first timers group", as I think that would be really useful, but they are not in any rush to give me any information about it. There is an NCT coffee morning once a month as well, but if I end up being induced on the 15th, then I'm not likely to want to go to that on the following Monday, so that one might have to wait until Feb.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

I have to go out later and I'm not looking forward to it. Think I'll join you on the sofa with a DVD and a nap.
congrats on your scan nicoler.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

Thanks, there is loads of other groups you can try, what area are you? are you planning to breast feed cos there will be a breast feeding group, you can go antenatally too, and once the baby is here there will be a range of groups offered by your health visitor, i.e under 1's, etc. Also the local children's centre may offer things like baby masssage, stay and play, wriggle and rhyme there is usually plenty of oppertunity to meet new mums!!!!!:j  :j0 -
Hi all
just an update from me.
had my final scan yesterday to see if my placenta had move.....yes it is well out of the way now, so normal labour is back on the books. And we found out its a pink bump.
Had my meeting with the midwife afterwards and she measured my bump and then measured it twice more looking confused. apparently I am measuring 37.5 cms and she asked if i was sure about my dates coz i should only be about 34-35cms. then she had a good feel about and said that the baby is in the perfect position and is definately engaged.
hopefully that means that I will go early this time, the first 2 were 10 days late and the last one was 1 day early.I MAY HAVE NOTHING.....BUT ITS MY NOTHING0 -
Sounding positive sampainter :T
But OMG - you are only about 3 weeks ahead of me.
It is starting to dawn on me that this baby is on the way!! And we still have nothing other than clothes and nappies
Hubby has now chosen 'THE' pram and I have chosen 'THE' moses basket. So I just need to stop trawling the internet looking for bargains and buy them (the hard part!).
Just a car seat, a cot, a steriliser, some blankets, a changing basket and a million other things to go then :rotfl:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
great news about your placenta sampainter - you lucky thing being engaged already! I'm 37+3 and baby hasn't moved down at all! just watch me go the full 14 days overdue and wave goodbye to the planned homebirth
where is everyone else today?
I have scrapped the idea of going outside and am now all wrapped up in cosy clothes and a fleece blankets trying to decide whether I should let myself have a nap or not. My sleep has been so bad I am desperate for a good nights sleepr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Hi all, good news this afternoon brings then! glad to see!
just popped on to say that since we found out about our baby, I have fallen more and more in love with Mr Pickle every day. It's the little things, really.
And also, since I've been pregnant, I have felt very much in love with just about anything!
Today's little heart flutter was caused by Mr P calling to say that on his lunch break he went pram/buggy/stroller shopping, saw tons of cool things and picked up a massive bunch of catalouges for us to read after dinner tonight. awwwww....
blummin hormones - i'm thinking he should make the most of my soppiness! :rotfl:0 -
Same here Pickle, its a great feeling isn't it! In a few of the books I've read, supposedly you feel even more in love when you see him hold the baby for the first time!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
