Yup, I was taking four different medications that are all very bad in pregnancy. Turns out pregnancy is better than any of them though, never been this well beforeFingers crossed I'll stay well, otherwise I'm going to end up having 20+ babies.
None that affected folic acid absorbtion though, perhaps that was someone else.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
I can understand what you mean FG, I'd been really low for about a year before I found out I was having Aimee and being pregnant was the first time I'd felt 'normal' in such a long time!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I remember there being someone in that situation.. can't think who tho!
Bearing in mind I've been taking these tabs every day since May 2005 and know that if I don't take them I'll get even more tired than usual, nevermind knowing how important they are when pregnant, I was quite miffed when the consultant asked me, rather accusingly, "are you sure you're taking these tablets regularly?!" - cheeky sod!
Maybe its because of that "latest trend" dia-bulemia where diabetics don't take their insulin so they lose weight (and also go blind  but hey who needs sight if your thin )
I think the meds I was thinking of were for someone with early arthritis but could of made it up0 -

Jeez, why would you do that?!
The theory is that I should be overweight and taking the tablets should speed up my metabolism to make me lose weight, so to look at me you'd think I'd been taking them by the handful to get this thin!
I'm surprised my weight wasn't mentioned at the hospital actually.. even the GPs I've been seeing since I was three months old still question me, despite knowing I've always been like this!0 -

I know what its like on the thin front my BBF is very slim and people are always asking me if she's anorexic  No she's isn't! not that its any business of theirs0 -
I get a mix of comments from people who know me well (or so I thought!) like "it's nice to see you eating" and then comments from people who don't know me well, like "you'll get fat!" (that was our CEO at work on seeing me tuck into a doughnut). Stupid thing to say considering for all he knows I could be anoxeric!
I wouldn't in a million years tell someone overweight to "put down that doughnut!" or suggest they ought to eat less.. Grrr!!
Also hate the amount of stupid comments I've had about being pregnant and how everyone seems to be waiting to "enjoy seeing me fat"!! I'm hoping for a healthy but smallish one (pls god don't let me go weeks overdue!) and carrying really neatly just to give them nothing to take the mick out of!0 -

oh nothing you do will ever be right  all I got with Chris was "oh you've got a neat little bump" or "oh you're all bump" I got really fed up of hearing it I felt like getting a t-shirt printed saying "yes I know, its a neat little bump!" I'm sure I'll get everyone telling me I'm much bigger this time - well I will be coz I'm starting off 2 sizes bigger than before
everyone is doing my nut in at the mo because they don't understand the point of not finding out the sex when I did last time, I don't see why it matters - Hubby wanted a surprise and I didn't so we found out last time and my gift to him is that this one will be a surprise! I don't care if it means I'll have to sort n sell Chris's old stuff post birth if its a girl!! My hubby is excited about it and so am I so pooh to them :cool:0 -
Wow, im always shocked/amazed at these super quick BFPS! Always makes me wonder why on earth it took us so long
Congrats ladies, i hope your pregnancies go in just as quick and smooth!
How did you wait till you were a whole week late before testing?? My BFPs were so faint, i need to test again as i'm worried that they aren't getting any darker, and already i keep retesting with everytime i go to the loo lol :rotfl:
I've been taking pregnacare for about 3.5 years of our TTC, those things cost too much! During the first half of my cycle i took seperate folic acid and cheap (30p a month!)multivitamins, then pregnacare after ovulation.
So annoyed at how tired i am. I was bidding on stuff on ebay and fell asleep at 6pm again and missed it all :mad:0 -
That's been the conversation with everyone once I told them.. Things they said:-
1. Ha, you'll get fat!
2. Are you going to find out what it is?
3. Any names yet?
Answers:-
1. No, I'll be visably pregnant.
2. I guess it's a baby..
3. Nothing I can say in polite company given how !!!!!! it's making me feel right now!
We do want to find out and I don't think I'll be able to keep it to myself, although I'm thinking of going down the "couldn't get a clear view" route. Thankfully I won't have to go back to work after the 20wk scan that day so we've got the evening to enjoy the news ourselves first. I guess that's going to be an annoyance of working at the same place - questions from all directions.
Names are definitely staying a secret until after the birth - can't be doing with anyone pulling a face or disagreeing or trying to make other suggestions..0 -

Sorry to say.. that won't get any better for the next ten or so weeks!I think Sami recommends a sniper tool for eBay so you don't miss out on bidding at the very end.. (Sami, is that how it works?!). Might be an investment to set that up!
