I thought (SB's) Poppy's birth was complicated and dramatic but she was born just before SB was taken for a C-section..

sls, I've not had fullblown nosebleeds but I've had spots of blood when blowing my nose or after sneezing. I think MFD was the same. I think it's to do with ligaments loosening up all over and blood vessels being a bit more fragile.

You're right elle, SB had Poppy via emergency forceps. I remember because Celia was forceps too so it stuck in my mind! :-)

I'm well and truely confused now :rotfl:Sorry SB if I made it up about having a VBAC, I blame bump ;)

I'm prone to nose bleeds anyway (is there anything that isn't wrong with me!)
but they are more common with preg its all about the increased amount of blood, hormones etc. nothing to worry about unless they don't stop after an hour (thats general nose bleed advice not specific to preg) and the right way to deal with a nose bleed is to tip your head slightly forward and apply pressure at the bridge. don't tip your head back like they always do on the tele

ETA: I'm off now gonna have a bath with my bubba :T OH suggested it :j xx

  • well im back from my scan! good news is that bubs is there, not so good news, is that im not as far on as my dates say as there is no heartbeat yet.

but, i have another scan on 26th to make sure everything is progressing well, so hopefully bubs will be good and stay stuck

Good news missus! I wonder how far along you are  I had a scan at 6wks and there was a heart beat and it looked more like a burger than a jelly bean so I assume you must be less than that

Myaccount - congratulations. I was having a course of reflexology when I fell pg and I swear that it was the deciding factor :D I do hope you'll pop in as much as you can x

My aunt's a reflexologist and specialises in conception (and palliative (sp?) care). She likes the idea of helping babies to arrive and helping to ease the pain of people going.

Her house is constantly filled with 'thank you' flowers from couples who have conceived while having treatment from her when conventional treatments have failed. Just a shame she lives 400 miles away as I really enjoyed having some reflexology while I was pg last time, but just won't have the time this time around

SB - great birth story, thanks for sharing. Glad you've got him back and home and are enjoying him. Don't forget to keep the Parent Club updated!

For those who are approaching their EDD and are scared, don't be. It feels like the most natural thing in the world while you're going through it. No denying it's painful, but think of it as a positive pain, baby will definitely be here soon when it hurts that much. And if you can't cope I personally recommend an epidural. It was the LAST thing I wanted but after 4.5 days of on/off labour, no sleep and baby being back to back (plus 6 hours of established labour) it was all I could do to utter the words "epidural now" between inhaling the gas & air - after being transferred from birth unit to the hospital by ambulance, lights, sirens & all  .

You will all be amazing mothers and won't remember the pain afterwards. Go girls!

Right, that's my positive words over with. Back to lying on the sofa in my PJs
