I have been taking Pregnacare for 6 weeks now, I'm 14+2. Was worried as I work in a school and at one point 9 kids in the class were of ill. I'm one of the only members of staff to have avoided this virus thingy going around. Touch wood it will stay that way but I'm sure the vitamins have helped. Got my iron levels yesterday and they were 12.6. Best I've ever had in pregnancy. Sanatogen Pronatal is on offer in Tescos at £2.60.

Right thats me; tomorrow straight back on the pregnacare, cause I feel like absolute pants:D

My OH finally went into the attic today to hunt for my maternity clothes. As it's No.6 I've quite a large bump already and I can't go to work on Monday with my trousers undone! Can't find my bump support thingy though as i'm gonna need a bit of help holding this one up, any suggestions. I've just looked at the NCP website but a personal recommendation would be better.

OMG, guy on the weather just said -9 tonight.

ooh if you want to play MW at home you can print off your very own EDD wheel here http://direct.gov.uk/en/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/documents/digitalasset/dg_173400.pdf
I think you need to get your blue peter hat on and print off 2 copies then cut out and use a paper fastener (you know everyone has one of those :D) et voila!

I think I attempted about ten Pregnacare tabs and swallowed abour four of them - they're HUGE!! :( I'm taking tiddy little FA tabs now. I have been taking them every day since coming off the Pill in April (never stopped after the m/c as I knew it wouldn't be long before we were trying again).

Sami, my tabs (thyroxine) are to replace the hormone every normal person's thyroid gland makes which controls metabolism. My thyroid is underactive, meaning it doesn't make enough thyroxine naturally which, according to the textbooks, should make my system sluggish and I should be overweight and tired. I'm clearly not a textbook case weight-wise but I was knackered all the time even before being pregnant. Taking the tab every day has made my thyroid gland shut down and I'm totally reliant on the doseage I take, whereas when normal women are pregnant, their thyroid steps up a gear and just ups how much hormone it kicks out - important for the baby's brain development, so the consultant told me last week - hence me having to have extra blood tests to see if the dose I'm taking is matched to my body's current requirements. It wasn't enough according to my test results last week so I've got to take a higher dose (from 125 to 150-thingies - can't remember if it's mini/micro-grams!). I'm not sure it has an effect on the absorption of FA though.. I have a thyroid conditions books somewhere that my mum got me - will dig it out :)

Just tipped the bags of Maternity clothes on the floor, it was only 6 years ago but I wouldn't be seen dead in some of it, soo embarrassed that I ever wore a couple of them, maybe they were cleaning clothes!

Elle the more I think about it the more I think the meds I'm thinking of were someone elses as they had to stop them ASAP after getting preg they were very scary sounding ones

:rotfl:Its funny how much things change isn't it! I can't help thinking that if bump is a boy I'll get all chris's old clothes out and say well thats soo not trendy anymore I'm not putting bubs in those

I also wish my old mat clothes would fit me this time but no such luck they are all sz8 and I need sz12 now, at least my current wardrobe isn't filled with short/tight tops and bum hugging pants coz thats what I wore PC (pre Christopher :p) my t-shirts are all covering my teeny bump with lots of room to spare:D

I remember there being someone in that situation.. can't think who tho!

Bearing in mind I've been taking these tabs every day since May 2005 and know that if I don't take them I'll get even more tired than usual, nevermind knowing how important they are when pregnant, I was quite miffed when the consultant asked me, rather accusingly, "are you sure you're taking these tablets regularly?!" - cheeky sod!

I think FG was on some tablets that had to be stopped PDQ when she found out she was pregnant?
