Don't think I've had a bath since I found out I was pregnant... Definitely have less baths since I had Aimee... Used to spend hours in there before, reading... Now I'm lucky to get a shower to myself... I switched it on yesterday morning, went into the bedroom to get undressed and by the time I got to the bathroom Aimee was under the water singing the birdy song shaking her bum at me...

Just waiting for some Angel Delight (well, the lidl version) to firm up a bit... It's pure torture!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I've just finished reading Call The Midwife which someone one here recommended (thankyou!). Are there any other good books to read? Pregnancy or sort of related?

I want Angel Delight! What flavour? I'm making do with Strawberry Nesquick at the moment, mmm.

Hiya i am moving over from the ttc board as defo had a BFP today:j
I have some spotting but it seems just to be in the evening. If it still continues should i go to the docs on monday or not? dh says that doc can't do anything about it so not to panic yet. I work out i am 5 weeks pg. We are not telling any one untill we have the 12 week scan and bloods back as one of my sil's is pg and is having problems. They told everyone they knew when she was only 5 weeks gone.

Her blood test was quite high not sure what the result means you all will prob know what i'm talking about the score should be 2 or under and hers was 12 She couldn't really discuss it will me in front of her other kids so i am a little confussed but she said she may have to make the awful decision to terminate the baby. Finger crossed the baby is ok but it doesn't sound good but she has had 3 scans now and they can't find any thing wrong on them.

Can anyone enlighten me on what it can be?

Sounds like the serum screening, if its high they recommend having amnio or CVS to check for downs syndome and others I can't remember.

That was me :A BIL got me another of her books for Chrimbo but haven't had chance to start it yet, will let you know if its as good :)

On the hot bath thing I checked baby centre http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/hotbathsexpert/
"However, you do need to be cautious about "hot" baths as there is little known about the possible effects on the blood flowing through the placenta or on the baby. If the water is too hot, you could also feel faint or sick, as it could lower your blood pressure a bit too much - not a good thing."
I think its sounds like someone's random guess :D Doesn't affect me anyway I only have baths with Chris so can't be too hot anyway (I'm enjoying them while I can coz soon he won't fit in there with my bump!)
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

I think Sami is right, as always!
  • Congratulations Elastigirl!!

    That's the 3rd or 4th BFP today!!

Sorry - don't know what the blood results mean. The only numbers I know are the blood count which is about your iron levels. Then it needs to be above 12 and can be dangerous below 10.5

Is it the risk of downs syndrome that she is talking about?

People must of been keeping busy in the run up to christmas MFD ;)

My trousers are really uncomfortable... Thought I was just a bit bloaty yesterday but they're not better today... 2 sizes too big as well... And my 1 pair of maternity trousers I managed to pull the elastic out of the other day so need to feed that back in before I have to go back to work next week!

  • Sami - I read that too but I am always harping on about the carp advice that they give you based on zero medical evidence

    My favourite bit:

The NHS site says something equally vague!

I'm glad I haven't been having lukewarm baths all this time ;)
