Talking of scans, anyone know when the best time to have a 4d one is? Various places are saying different things! His estimated weight is a bit above normal, so don't know if that is a factor.

Sami - make sure you shop around, I found somewhere that did a scan for £50 (We had a few 10 second videos of the scan and a dozen stills on CD and 6 print outs for that price) but other places are a lot more expensive.

Another question - what do I do about visiting when I'm very pregnant? We tend to go back home every 3-4 weeks, which is 250 miles away. Should I keep doing that up till my due date, or is it sensible to stay at home after a certain point? I don't mind giving birth up there, at the hospital I was born at.

    Congrats SB :-)

And just so you all know her hospital induces at ten days late, still impressive that both Poppy and Jamie hung on until day eleven (or indeed didn't keep clinging on after it!)

Congrats SB and Miss C on the new babies, we must see piccies!! (Miss C, I completely understand the feeling like it's not your baby... Took a while before I bonded with Aimee rather than just feeling like I was looking after her for someone, but it does come!)

Welcome back FG, I would carry on the visits for as long as you feel comfortable. You might find sitting in the car for that long might get uncomfortable the bigger your bump gets...

While I'm here, here's a pic of the carrycot we fetched out of Mum's garage on Sunday... Hubby thinks its great, his Dad and Step Mum think it's great... It's a little better than I remember... But I still prefer the lovely silvercross...

  • Congrats SB and Miss C on your new arrivals. I realised that I'm now 22 weeks and over half way and sometimes think Oh my god what am I doing this again for!! But then I look at DS1 and wonder what I used to do with all my time and energy before he arrived but still wouldn't change things.

I'm blaming it all on the hormones!

My lower back (like very low down, bottom of my back/top of my bum) really hurts tonight. I know it's from wearing high work boots after four days of flats. Can I use a hot wheat bag on it? Will be in flats tomorrow - it got me as soon as I walked 30m across the car park this morning :(
  • I think you'd be fine popping it on your back if it's not too hot, avoid putting it on your bump though I think...

  • Congrats Miss C - I hope that having Gethin safe in your arms will help you forget the trials you've been through to get him here in one piece x
