Congrats to Sb (ouch!!) and miss_corerupted!!

I'm another one with a scan today - 12 o'clock. They did offer me the 8.30 one - but as I'm the only one awake in the house right now (and have been since 5am) I'm glad I declined that offer!!

Off to wake the others up, methinks (or perhaps after I've grabbed some breakfast for me in peace and quiet!)

    :hello: Hello ladies!

I'm reporting back as the very proud Mummy of Jamie Jack born at 00:22am on Sunday 28 December 2008 weighing a 'whopping' 10lb 12.5oz! (do I get a gold star?! ;)). After being induced on Saturday morning, I gave birth with just gas & air :).

I will be back soon with 'The Birth Story'! :D.

Hope everyone is well and I think I'm going to have go back quite a few pages to catch up!

    xxx

Congratulations SB! What a whopper indeed :D:D

Look forward to reading your birth story...

    morning

I forgot to tell you about my trip to mothercare yesterday. I decided to brave the crowds to be measured for nursing bras (so I could buy a couple in the sale!). The lady wasn't exactly helpful. Her measurements seemed really at odds with what I'm currently wearing (which I was measured for not that long ago and is comfortable for me) I'm wearing a 30FF and she was getting me to try on a 38D? It didn't feel in the slightest supportive and there was no room for growth for the milk coming in. When I questioned this she just shrugged her shoulders and said that you could never tell how much you'll increase by so I should just come back and buy more when the milk arrives hmmmmmmmmmm.

Anyway -I've left it just now and think I'll go back to my tried and tested bravissimo later in January....three times the cost, but at least I'll feel more confident about their service and advice having used them lots before. oh dear - not very mse huh?!

    what has others experiences been?

SB - Congratulations!! Looking forward to the birth story!!:j (and pics!!)

Miss C - Congratulations!! :j Sorry your birth experience wasn't what you were hoping for. Glad it all turned out well in the end though.

GP appointment yesterday. Now I have to wait another 4 wks for our first scan. We have a doppler, but at 8 wks, it's a bit early to hear anything. I'm still having nausea and sore achy bbs, but I cannot WAIT for the scan so I can relax a bit.

rmac - sounds like the girl at mothercare isn't making sense. It makes no sense to buy some with no room at all and then go buy more later. In a way, if you are assured of getting a better fit at bravissimo, it IS more MSE - because if they don't fit right it will cause all sorts of problems and you'll end up buying more anyway.

I never changed sizes whilst b/feeding. You find at about day 3 or so you are engorged - but it's not just all milk - hormone levels are haywire and they settle down again in a couple of days.

  • Morning all.... DH is a big meanie - he just phoned me to wake me up, but I really could have done with just a little bit more sleep, and waking up when I was ready. I've had to put "house cleaning" music on to wake myself up and get going, or I'll just end up asleep again on the sofa. I'm nackered at the moment, but I know it's at least partly because I'm not getting any exercise/fresh air. Will have to put my shoes on and potter to the end of the road and back later I think. (There is a bench half way, so I can sit down for a rest if I need to ;) )

Good luck for everyone's scans today - it seems to be the week for them at the moment :)

Good luck to the ladies with scans today!!

Just got back from the Doctors, he's given me loads of painkillers (ie paracetamol lol) and referred me for physio.

He said to see how I get on in work and if it's too painful, to go back and he will sign me off.

I don't mind that actually as I'll be in tomorrow, but off on Thursday (I only work a Wed and Thurs), so I'm sure I can cope this week with just working the one day.
