afternoon all. Hope you had a fabulous xmas & father christmas brought you everything you asked for.
Well he didn't for me! I asked for the baby to be here before xmas!
waiting is soooo boring....
baby is due in 4 days, & showing no signs of doing anything. I used all my energy yesterday (eating, smiling & unwrapping pressies), & today have not even managed to get dressed.
come on baby0 -
LOL well sounds like all have had a fairly good time?
We had friends over for christmas - no relatives just the 6 of us which was really niceHad a posh starter which DH made - chiabata lightly grilled with goats cheese (or in my case mozerella) and sticky onion marmalade and pan fried panchetta - very nice actually!
Then we had duck and my creamed potatoes with veggies and a gorgeous plum and red wine sauce and finally my Ris A La Mande (danish rice pudding!) so we were all well gorged last night...
And the good news is there is enough sauce and duck for me to have it for dinner again tonight when everyone else is having stew and haggis (YUCK)infact I did 3 ducks and we only ate 2 of them... they were bigger than I thought!
Had some nice presents - t-shirt with "I'm easy to get along with once you learn to worship me" hehehe
DH and I both agree that the best present will be on the 30th when we have the 20 week scanBean has been an active little so and so - kicking as I type! Has meant lots of naps for me tho!
Ah well... tomorrow we go and pick up new TV as this one has burn in on the screen again and the engineer has told Costco it's cheaper to replace the TVyay! This time we're going Sony and they have upped the warrenty to 5 years instead of 3... bonus (oh and it works out cheaper!)
so all good!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Sounds like everyone has had a great Xmas and received some good presents.
Ellie_gee - I've got my scan on Monday too! We had an early scan a couple of weeks ago but it's my first NHS scan on Monday. Really looking forward to it now, so we can tell people. Our parents know but that is it and it was sooo difficult keeping quiet yesterday, especially after our friends announced they were pregnant yesterday and they're due just a few days after us. I know we could tell more people but we just want to wait until after Monday (should be 13 wks by my dates then) just in case anything has gone in the last two weeks.
Sami_Bee - glad to hear that your dad came home for a while yesterday and that he's improving.0 -
happy boxing day all!!!
great reading all the xmas day stories
elle ---- congrats on the 12 weeks. i am so pleased for you. love the charm bracelet idea. i have been thinking of starting one myself as my mum has always had one.
sami ---- glad to hear the news about your dad.
hubby and i exchanged our christmas cards on christmas eve. i wrote him out a christmas card from bubs (but did it on a 'normal' christmas card). i got the shock of my life when i realised i had a card made out to 'mummy'. hubby actually bought me a 'mummy' card from 'her little angel'. i just booed. the card couldn't have been more perfect. i am very much into angels. when i first saw the card i said to hubby that he must have seen his envelope that had 'to my dad' on it. as i had only written it out an hour or so before, i thought he had copied me. my biggest surprise was that he thought of it before hand. he said he knew i would write one to him from bubs so he wanted to.
although i feel bad that i didn' get a 'daddy' card so i am going to try and find one (not sure if i will have any luck though) and rewrite what i wrote.
i am 29 weeks today. can't believe it.0 -
Hello everyone!
Thanks for thinking of my DaddyI think he has turned a bit of a corner as he is (Gross alert!) coughing up ming, to my logic says that his body must be getting rid of the nasties now, He's been on oral anti-b's since Christmas eve so no more IVs but his temp is a little high (38.2) he was almost discharged on Chrimbo day but his blood test still showed infection hence him only coming out for the evening. Bless him he had a bit of turkey and my mum bathed him, she said when she was helping him get dry he burst into tears coz he felt really helpless
Chris has absolutely LOVED Christmas especially all the "pwesents" he got a bit carried away and opened some of mine :rotfl: He also loving my relaxed approach to diet over yuletide! he's been eating all his faves; meat, "tatoes", "gwapes", "onenges", "choc-et" and custard. His little pot belly is putting my tiny bump to shame!
My bump was huge this morning I kept banging it, but after a fair few bottom burps it disappeared
Glad you all had a nice time xxx0 -
Awwww Chris sounds like he had a "wowee" christmas
Bless his little socks!
As for the belly... everyone I have seen last few days have squeaked about my bump! And no matter what I do my heartburn is now REALLY getting to me! ARGH!!!!!
Hohum can't be helped I guess...
Doing lots of burping but hasn't been too bad for bottom burps over christmas thankfullyDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Elle that is soo sweet of your OH!!! My something old for the wedding was my mum's charm bracelet I've always loved the charm she has that is a church that opens and inside is a couple getting married. I'd love a nice bracelet and always keep an eye out but I've never seen one I like - they all seem to be gold and I only wear silver stuff
Well you warned me and you were right! I'm now an xbox widow ... Humpf!
My friend is coming over tomorrow and OH said is her OH coming? I'm not sure and hubby said txt her in the morning and if he is tell him to bring some games for us to play on the xbox. It would be quite nice if us ladies and kids could go in another room but we can't coz our house is so pokey!
Oh and nearly fainted when I unwrapped my pressies from the inlaws as I knew I was getting money/vouchers and just token pressies but there was a cheque for £75!! I was expecting total of all pressies to be £50 at most, they also gave me a cheque for Chris for £100 he won't get his hands on that until he's 18 :A0 -

Hi all, just back from my parent's again.. Had a slobbing day, got up at lunchtime then watching OH's new Jeff Dunham DVD then went to parent's for buffet tea. My dad thinks it's hilarious that I just keep eating and my mum and OH kept bursting into giggles everytime I asked for something to eat cos it turned out OH was predicting "she'll want a sandwich when she wakes up", then "she'll change her mind what she wants in this in a minute" and "she'll want a cuppa after I've made this"
Sami, OH refers to the bottom of my bump (the bit between my hip bones that was formerly flat) as the "baby bit" and the top bit (near my belly button) as the "windy bit" - I'm afraid to say he's right! Can't wait for it to move up a bit and stop resting on my bladder! Can they tell if it's moved on the scan or will I actually notice it? I'm just assuming it's still there cos I need a wee so often (or will that never improve?!).
The charm bracelet website I told OH about for the purposes of my list was http://www.thecharmworks.com. They're all silver and mine is silver from H Samuel.0 -
I am going to bed in a min.. honest!
Please can everyone tell me where to look for maternity clothes? I want to see if I can get a few things in the sales. I know it will mostly be summer bits in the sales but that's good for meI need trousers right now though so I'm going to get maternity versions, preferably the type with the elastic and buttons inside the waistband.
I've looked at Mamas and Papas, Mothercare, New Look, Dorothy Perkins and Topshop online so far. We have the last four where I live but they're not very big stores. My sister is moving from Newark to York soon so I might have to pay her a visit before and after the move and check out the shops there.
Thanks!0
