  • Congratulations bumble bee, bet you can't think about anything else at the moment.

Sami good news about your Dad, hope he continues to improve.

Had lovely christmas, We heard millie get up at 6.30 and expected her to come and get us but she didn't she just went back to bed and then got up 8.30, when I asked her about getting up earlier she said she was just checking he had been but thought she'd better go back to bed cos it was still dark!!?? I couldn't have slept with presents in the room when I was 5, not sure I could now!

OH didn't do too badly with my surprises, one of which was that he has adopted me a giraffe called Ellish!

MIL bought us all a wii so had a good laugh playing that yesterday although I had to give up cos I felt something 'go' in my back, can still feel it today, hoping its nothing too serious as bump is just beginning the final growth spurt.

Where is SB? do you think we've got a Christmas baby?

  • Morning all - hope everyone had a fab day yesterday. We had a lovely time - I got away with a very relaxing day. Everyone came here, but once we got the last of the housework done, DH and MIL cooked, everyone else took turns on the washing up, and I kept getting told to sit down, as I was getting in the way with my massive bump! (7 of us in our flat, which was a bit cosy!)

Father Christmas brought me chocolate, a chocolate cookery book, smellies (most of which I can't use, so DH will be very clean for the next month or so!), oh and a glove puppet elephant which I have named Gertrude :)

He also brought me germs, but luckily I don't feel too ill with them, I just can't stop coughing. I'm now hoping the baby is a bit late, so I have time to get better, otherwise I'm going to end up with 3rd degree tears because I've coughed/sneezed at the wrong moment

  • Searching, how far along are you? I had a bit of a bump from 4 months but it was about a month or so again before it was clearly a baby bump and not just chocolate!

  • I was starting to get fatter by 14 weeks, but as you say, it wasn't obviously baby, just looked like I'd been at the cake! It was probably 4-5 months before it was more obviously baby.

Hi all.. Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas - I did too!

I'm always adamant I don't like surprises, hence writing the Christmas list. OH bought me the diary I was after plus a charm bracelet, which, when I unwrapped it on xmas morning was empty, no charms. That was the point - it's something to add to for years, wasn't supposed to be full so that was lovely. Then when we were back at my parent's house later in the day, he told me to get the bracelet and check it fits.. went I opened the box again, there were three charms attached to it! A pair of lovebirds, a pair of baby booties and a stork carrying a baby in sling! Noone will tell me how they got there, but I can only guess it was my dad. OH was adamant they'd been there all day and everyone else managed to keep a straight face too!

We opened our stockings and presents from friends at home, then went to my parents' to see them and my grandparents and opened more presents. Then had lunch (fruit plate starter was fab - melon, grapes, orange segments plus pineapple and pomegranate seeds!), then went to OH's sister's to see them and his parents. Had a lovely conversation with his parents and got some lovely presents from his family which acknowledged the pregnancy (fab conditioning hair dryer "cos preg might make your hair dry and coarse" and a digi photo frame "for photos of the baby") which was great as I'm always convinced they don't like me so obviously they've got the message I'm sticking around!

I mentioned my charm bracelet and his Dad was asking if it was gold or silver and said he was remembering for future birthday and christmas present ideas! (;)) I mentioned that I'd had one since I was little so I thought that, as I'm nearly 25, I'd start a new one. There was a bit of a surprised tone to everyone's voice after that - they knew I was younger but I don't think they'd paid too much attention to exactly how much younger than OH I am (11 yrs). I get ID'ed for Lotto scratchcards for god's sake so it's not like I look any older than 24!

Went back to my parent's after that for chicken sandwiches and trashy tv - and a snooze in my case! OH, my dad and grandad cracked open several bottles of expensive whisky and had a tasting session late into the night. I was getting drunk off the fumes!

Anyway, enough rambling.. in preg news, I am officially 12wks today (by my dates which I'd be going by if it wasn't for the earlier scan) - HURRAH, I made it!! :j :j :j Looking forward to the scan on Monday without too much dread now.

Hope everyone else has a "Merry Boxing Day" (first thing OH said this morning!) and all the bumps are well. Really hope SB's bump is now in her arms! :D xx

ETA: One of my stocking presents was a big plain white mug and OH had bought special paint and painted on it by hand "Merry Christmas to the World's Bestest Mum-to-be".. awwww, I melted! (he's just bought me a cuppa in it, hence remembering to tell you!)

    Hi All

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas day.

Congratulations Bumblebee - what a lovely present for you, here's hoping you have a trouble free 9mths.

We had a lovely day yesterday, the kids thoroughly enjoyed their presents, ds1 declared they were the best presents he had ever been given by Santa!!! They also got loooads of cash in cards, which is staying firmly in my purse, until we decide how to let them spend it...they got £250 between the two of them, I am not going to just let them waste it!!!!

I was 29wks yesterday, and on new years day I will be 30wks exactly...I will then only have 2wks left in work yipeeeee. I am not planning on going back to work until Nov, but I will be looking for a new job whilst on maternity so it may work out that I go back to work in Sept.....Although if I get the type of job I want it will be worth it.

Baby is getting very strong now, sticking it's limbs out all over the place. The boys found it a bit strange when they had a feel yesterday.

Off to get a shower now, we are going out for a meal at about 5ish.......My brother has just turned up and the house has just turned into a madhouse.

    Mel x

  • Morning all,

Had leaky boobs again last night. 20 weeks this weekend and the leaking has happened 5 times this week - going to have to invest in some breast pads as it is staining things (it is both clear and yellowy - ewgh!).
Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T
