Hi all.. I've been at my parents tonight - had a massive serving of fishcake and chips
Have told OH he has an hour to do what he wants then we're putting the tree up *stamps foot* We're going Christmas shopping tomorrow and thinking of getting the bus into town as parking was so bad last weekend. Have friends coming over at five and I'm determined to insert a bit of Christmas spirit into the house by then!
Nothing much to report today. Had a very brief twenty minute nap after tea and woke up feeling slightly sick but had a cream cake and it went away! It dawned on me earlier that I have travel sickness bands for when I go on long car journeys. I'm going to try putting them on if I think I'll have a nap next time and see if they stop me feeling sick when I wake up
Random money saving snippet for today - I renewed my car insurance earlier. Had to phone to advise them OH had made a claim plus got a speeding fine in the last policy year and that actually reduced the quote! Crazy!
What is everyone working over Christmas? I'm uber jealous of MFD! I'm in Mon-Wed next week, then Mon-Wed the week after with 2nd Jan off. My 12wk-ish scan is on Mon 29th so I'm going to the hospital not work first thing so hopefully it'll only be a half day at work.
Speaking of which, how long did everyone's 12wk scan appointment actually take? The leaflet I got about it from the midwife said to expect it to take TWO hours!! Is that realistic?!0 -
Sami you're scaring me again... Ours is a mid terrace, 3 bed (and although only 4 years old feel pokey sometimes!) and ickle...
*sigh* I miss the 6 bed HUGE house we had when NATO was paying our rent *sigh* - had my own annex complete with livingroom, bedroom, bathroom, toilet and kitchen (well there wasn't actually a kitchen fitted...) and private entrance... not bad when you're 15 and you have started datingEspecially if your bedroom window is pointed away from the house and driveway and can't be overlooked from the main house *tries really had to look innocent*
You were a right naughty girl back in the day weren't you!:p0 -
elle that seems quite long BUT bearing in mind you have to find somewhere to park at the hospital, then 5 mins to get in and then wait 30 mins as no matter what time of day they are running late... then if baby is difficult or you haven't got a full enough bladder you have to drink and try again in 30-60 mins... I guess they say 2 hours to make sure you are prepared for worst case? The actual appointment I think took about 15-20minsDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

My 12wk scan with chris I was at hosp for about an hour in total, but this time I went to a newer centre thing and I was there for over 2 hours! they said they were understaffed an apologised tho.
The actual scan only takes about 15minsits the waiting (some times with full bladder ) and seeing MW after that takes time
ETA: have you had booking bloods? some PCTs do them after scan0 -
Mine is over 100yrs old  the walls are about a mile thick and wonky as anything! oh and its freeezing! we have the original deeds they aren't signed, they've got wax seals!!

I would have been if my boyfriend wasn't a prude *sigh* I honest, cross my heart, was a virgin until I was 16... he was paranoid about anyone having problems with me being under 15... He'd finished Uni so was a good uhmmm 5 or 6 years older if not moreBless him... But he did sneak in my bedroom window a few times later on

Mmm.. I've just thought, my app is at 0910hrs so probably the first one of the day, but then given it's the first working day after Christmas, there may well be quite a few emergency cases to get in before me, pushing mine back. I've been there so certainly won't begrudge the emergencies going before me. I think I'd better not drink too much before I go - could be waiting an age and bursting by the time I get in there! Will take a bottle of water with me and sip slowly if it looks like I'm in for a long wait!0

Yup, had booking bloods, plus extras for my thyroid, the day after booking appointment (wasn't feeling very giving at the time and they didn't get any blood out of me so had to go to hospital the next day).0 -
oh mrs T i dont know if they had told us this in the first place we would have been prepared but we were relying on the money and its through an agency at the other side of the country??? not only that as its christmas their last day was today so feel like they have landed us right in it and keeping us hanging on all week is so unfair:( am trying to make light of it but i know OH was keeping some of the money back to get my christmas present and now he feels awful as he hasnt got me anything. i have told him to wait til the money comes and we will have a good day in the sales etc but he doesnt want me to have nothing?
Sami we have a victorian house when we got it there was pics of the house from when it was first built! its a strange shaped house as its a main house with 2 cottages added plus and extension. downstairs is huge but upstairs is a lot smaller! its the same very cold and draughty, we have just replaced the heating so noticing a big difference and we have gas fires in the living rooms so its nice and cosy! oh and downstairs is all wooden floors looks nice but is hard to keep clean! What's for you won't go past you0 -
first appointments at hosp here take up to 2 hours, waiting and waiting and going over the forms from MW and also bloodsWhat's for you won't go past you0

When alarm goes off empty your bladder then down 500mls water (I have a 500ml bottle at the ready), then spend the rest of time until app sipping another 500ml. I often only drink about 1/2 of 2nd 500mls but they always say i have a nice full bladder when they scan :T0
