In the meantime, please do remember there are less than ten people on the editorial team trying to keep all the articles and deals notes updated and put together a huge email every week. It's a massive job so we have to prioritise the "doing" part before the "letting you know" part.

We hate pointing out that you're not paying for any of this but it's true.

    Andrea :)

Whilst I'm sure we all feel properly put in our place by your last comment, it might be worth pointing out that feedback is a two way process. If that's not going to be the case, perhaps this board could be renamed "Letting off Steam about MSE" because , if nobody's listening, it just becomes somewhere to have a rant.

It seems to me that your ranting here, because the fact that this thread HAS been answered should tell you that they are listening. That they actually added a "have a go at martin" thread, for everyone to rant on IS the "Letting off steam about MSE", further proof that they do actually listen. I however suspect even THAT wont be enough for you.

  • Right, I've found what I think is the question you're talking about Oldernothewiser and replied to it. It was started more than a couple of days ago though so my apologies if it's not the question you meant, if you give me the link to the correct one here then I'll look at that.

    Hi folks

We read a lot of the feedback and it is monitored. And where there is an issue we can impact we try and reply.

Yet please remember there are a LOT of boards here and 30 paperback books written a day. You can't assume we read everything. This is a way to flag things up and we have to hope some members of the team catch it.

Thank you for all the feedback though

    Martin :)

I hate to say it but I'm quite insulted by this comment!!!!!

We may not be paying 'cash' but the clicks through on the sponsored links are what pay for the salaries, etc!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't click the links with a * if it bothers you that much then. Problem solved ;)
My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.

Did I say the sponsored links bother me??????????

I do, however, get annoyed when folks don't know who pay their salaries!

Martin,Can you please say why you don't answer some PM's?i don't mean any nasty type of PM's i mean courteous ones. Not that your the first port of call with any enquiry, just that sometimes your a last resort to some as the query/problem has'nt been answered many times by any of the team

  • Not having polite enquirys answered is annoying to say the least,it does seem that the team ask for our help quite a lot and we gladly give it,its a shame that it cant be recipricated whenever we need a query or our own answered

I can personally verify that several of the team members often work not only hard during the day but are still slogging away dealing with spam and at times abuse posts at silly hours. No doubt they could do their jobs more efficiently if there was less spam (never going to happen sadly... :( ) and less attacks on people and the MSE team :)
If there is an issue you think is important then drop a PM to the board BG or one of the MSE team... I find it hard to believe neither a BG or a MSE employee wouldn't respond - allow for the fact the BGs not only have holidays from time to time but we also have day jobs :)

As for unanswered queries... Bear in mind they get hundreds each day... there are hundreds of thousands of users and prioritising not only their "day jobs" but also the most urgent of the queries sent by PM or mail takes a lot of man hours. If it's very important then send it again by mail... usually the best way I've found :)
