Sent my form back before you, come end of next week they will have had it for over 6-weeks but no sign of anything.
However its good to hear some are getting their money :T

Sorry to read that, but it supports my theory that logic is not involved.
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !
  • Cheque received for more than £50k this am. Matured 22nd Dec.
    Form returned 23rd Dec.
    Very relieved indeed.
Grateful to the FSCS , BUT, they took too long.
They disseminated their information in a most appalling manner.
Was strung along for two weeks. Cheque was printed yesterday.

If a big UK bank ever goes down, its gonna be brutal.

Grateful for the insight i have gained from this thread and good luck to everyone else still waiting.

    Adios.
  • Today I got a letter from fscs entitled
COMPENSATION PAYMENTS IN RESPECT OF ICESAVE DEPOSITS.
"Thank you for returning your completed application form. We are processing application forms that have been returned and are working hard to assess your application as soon as possible. If you have any questions about this letter please telephone us on 020 7892 7300 and ask to speak to our Customer Service Team " John Poulos, Assistant Manager.

Ironically, they have already paid me all I am due so far, ie. my instant access account and 2 cheques for my FTDs which have already matured. ( yes, I had to wait about 11 weeks for one of them, the other was only about 4-5 weeks after maturity).

I still have 3 more to come, but they are not yet due. So goodness knows what prompted the letter. I can only hope it means that others are getting their payment through too.
  • Great to hear that cheques have started to arrive again. Interesting that they've appeared 10 days after the first batch which were on the 21st and now these on the 31st. Trying to work out their method makes the wait slightly less boring!

What a bloody shambles, I called the FSCA and a bloke refused to look up my case, saying 'it's not worth it' he then said that the 6 weeks would not include Christmas because they were off for 10 days. He said that I might get a cheque sometime late Feb...

I've seen posted on another forum that one of their problems is that the folks up in Darlington haven't been keeping their computer records up to date or at all. So nobody can trace any progress in the system with any certainty.
You can certainly tell when you're dealing with the non-private sector. 10 days off work on holiday, very nice! No real urgency to this then.

I think you must have got through to the same unpleasant bloke I've had the misfortune to deal with on occasion. I've tried to get his name but he just hangs up on you.

I just looked up the FSCS site to see if there was an update and found this instead:

Inclement weather: office closure 2 February 2009

Due to inclement weather conditions, the FSCS offices are closed today. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We plan to reopen tomorrow.

    - looks like we are in for a nice new round of delays due to weather. Once we factor in Valentines, Mother's Day and Easter it loks like the "6 weeks" could become "6 months"!
  • I spoke to him as well, not nice and no name, although I asked
  • My dh and I received letters from fscs today. The same content as newly retired and just for a second my heart lifted, until I opened it

no cheque yet again. What a farce!!!!!

we are in the 11th week now since maturity and have been passed from pillar to post
