When I spoke to the FSCS two weeks ago they said we would get confirmation eventually ! How long eventuality is would be anybody's guess... However feel free to phone them and ask, the more the merrier
As far as I know, the form gets sent off and the next thing that happens is a cheque arrives in the post after maturity. That is the problem with the present system, if the form has been lost or never received, how do you know until nothing turns up 6 weeks after the account has matured?0 -
This is the response I got in an email reply from FSCS:
Thank you for your e-mail of 19 January 2009. In answer to your queries, once your claim is assessed we’ll write to you confirming you’ll be receiving your compensation at the relevant maturity dates of your fixed term accounts. This letter will also include details of who you should contact in terms of the administration of your accounts before they mature.0 -
^ this is good to know, I was going to call them as well (sent first week of January, maturing May and October this year).Being brave is going after your dreams head on0

I spoke to someone at fscs this morning and he was quite careful in changing the subject when I asked for his name. Not nice at all. For goodness sake when will we get somewhere. Bonds matured 18 nov and dec and jan
I am pig sick. Come on martin, help us please. No-one is listening0 -
I've had a cheque 4 weeks after maturity (17 Dec) of my first FRB. Nothing else regarding my other accounts (2 & 3 yr FRBs) But they were all on the claim form so am sure they received the form. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

Maybe this is just for accounts that haven't yet matured. Although if they keep on dragging their heels most of them will have done.
I will be very annoyed if they waste their time writing a letter to me telling me that a cheque will come in due course. Just send the cheque!
Post has just arrived. Guess what? Yep. No cheque!
FRBs 1st Dec & 3rd Dec. Form sent 23rd Dec.0 -
Can't really recall - in over 40 years - any financial situation where I have felt so powerless.0

No-one is listening to us so we have to raise the profile of our plight. Is anyone brave enough to send watchdog their story? I e m ailed watchdog today. We need to bombard the papers and broon and his poodle
I read an online letter today from fscs to the fsa and basically they are saying that they do not have cash flow. Is that why they are hanging onto OUR money?0 -
Interesting Kittie - what letter have you read on cash flow?0
-
I`ll try and find the letter. It is online and the fscs are asking for more money
