    Oh, ok, big misunderstanding then.

You read "claimed online" as to say the option to get the money there and then, while I read that as "choosing the option to leave it until maturity on the online application".

    After all, soulsaver said

He/she is right that those are the 2 options.

    Thanks Bea. BTW: He.

So it doesnt matter to YOU that the FSCS havent even sent all the forms out yet then?
I've had all the forms I'm expecting of them (ISA cert, FRSB form - received before xmas, sent back last week.)
Never mind sent anyone a cheque.
I'm expecting two cheques within 4 weeks. I'd be surprised if anyone had a cheque before the 14th Jan.

Really? That's not my interpretation of the first post on this thread. Perhaps you thought you were on a different thread?

In any case, I was replying a post directed at me personally, so there's no need to get stroppy about my reply.

I've got one maturing in June 09 and elected to let it run to term (box ticked on 13/11). Should I have received the paper application form by now ?
    Yes.
I initiated claim 17/11, opted to keep until maturity May '09, and apparently we should have had forms by now but there is an update on FSCS website about this (see post 24). If forms haven't been received by 19th then contact FSCS.
    I haven't received one yet!
  • I have 5 fixed term deposits. I opted to wait for maturity.
I received a claim form in 3rd week of December which I posted back around 19th. I have heard nothing since, despite the fact that 2 of my accounts have reached maturity by now - by the time I filled out the form actually, so I am a bit sore that I am losing interest on that money since maturity.
Obviously there was a delay over Christmas/New Year but I really had expected to get a pay out by now.
  • The FSCS have told me by phone that a lot of forms that should have gone out, haven't!
Which is just great! Particlarly when people with accounts ending later this year have had theirs, but many with accounts ending last year have received diddley-squat!
