Why have numerous relevant threads been moved to discussion time?

I think you have a large enough expression of opinion that it has gone wrong, to have cause to reconsider without reference to the mods.

Was the move on divadee's own initiative? Or was it all of the board Guides together? Or have you received instructions [helpful suggestions] from above?

FWIW, the splitting off of the House Price board occurred shortly before my time - but I tend to think that because the split was as the result of controversy, maybe it would be appropriate to have different board guides for the House Prices board?

but no-one seems prepared to give the abuse team time to take a look and get back , seeing as it's Sunday I expect it will not get discussed until tomorrow

And one point you seem to be missing, the abuse team are the paid moderators, board guides aren't paid and more importantly aren't moderators and yet have to put up with all this carp. Also Discussion Time is the place for discussion, that is why it is called Discussion Time funnily enough and was set up to take discussion threads away from the pure money boards.

There seems little point to having a House Prices discussion area then -

If you're keen to chat about the ups and downs of house prices then this is the place to do it

'Chat' is bound to broaden out, for all the reasons already referred to. If it's become too contentious, why not leave it at House Buying, Renting & Selling as any questions or points purely about the price of houses can be posted there.

Good, because you're right I don't care about petty and juvenile arguments that take away from the purpose of MSE.

I have already contacted the abuse team (which I think is completely inappropriate, there should be a complaints contact).

Yes it is Sunday but this board is 24/7 and as such, there should be someone available to make the decision promptly...I know it is expected of my site and any complaints made to me regarding our service is dealt with promptly.

And for the record, I don't get paid for it either.

There isn't a house price discussion area!
There is a house price board where questions can be asked about house prices.

The site has one discussion area where all points are discussed that are not money saving.
Once a thread moves away from the money aspect it becomes an open discussion it moves over. This is the way it has always been.

I can't honestly why you are all so defensive. This is nothing new.
