I returned the courtesy car yesterday, garage has accepted all liability for the Bora saying they have never seen a cam belt in such a condition but it is not due to incorrect fitting.... but no alternative excuse or indeed confirmation that the belt was actually changed when it should have been.
Regards expenses incurred, they said I should submit my enquiry in writing to their branch. I think I'll cc/cf it to their head office/VWUK.0 -
Well done.
I just think you have to be more pragmatic about thes things and sort them out as best you can. Seems like your dealer has come up trumps.
Last year in Italy I had a clutch go on a Saturday afternoon, managed to rent another car but had to drive halfway across Italy to sort it out. Three days out a 14 day holiday.
Life is too short and we met some great folk whilst we sat at the side of the road. They bropught out drinks etc and helped with translation with the recovery company.
!!!!!! happens, hope they cover your reasonable expenses.0 -

Crabman hasnt given me any link thoughgot the link off hewhoisnotintheknow from another thread. I honestly hadn't seen it before now, and no I dont work at either VW branch
I'd have happily helped if I could, but looks like it's sorted now? If you need any help/advice I can certainly still try. For starters, VW customer services phone number is 0800 711 811 if you want to log a complaint or find out more about the claim.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. thats good, sounds like vw will be getting you a new engine then. i wouldnt accept any less. if the belt was fitted properly then it can only be down to the belt or the tensioners, all of which should be vw parts,so its up to vw to sort it now, with the dealer of course....work permit granted!0 -
