Ive just received a PCN for overstaying the 60 free parking minutes by 34 minutes in the car park at SPORTS DIRECT in St Helens,Merseyside.

The entrance photo shows my car with the number plate brightened up, but both photo's show the public road (although empty) behind the photo's, don't they need a special licience to photograph public roads?

Anyway, I was going to pay the reduced amount of £75, but decided to Google the companies name 'G24 Ltd', mmm, all forums say the PCN is unenforceable, and not to contact then or pay reguardless of any threatening letters they send to me.

Can someone put an upto-date reply to confirm this.

    Thanks

Nothing has changed, just keep ignoring. As for those photos, they might show some lovely images of a car, but there is no way they can identify the driver from those pictures.

What do you mean by up to date???

You mean more recent than the posts on the forum a few minutes before yours saying to ignore all PPCs??

I'm not sure how fast you think they move, but the wheels of british law making move in months/years, not minutes.

I know this has been mentioned before on here, but it's worth repeating this from the "Money" section of today's Sunday Times

Under extensive guidance issued by the OFT, debt collectors are obliged - under threat of losing their licence - to back off when people tell them the debt is disputed and they should take no action while investigation into the dispute is going on.

Perhaps victims who are subject to the threats doled out by the various PPC's debt collectors should start complaining to the OFT to try and get the licences taken away from these parasites.

Very common problem with G24 and this car park google it and you get a lot of information on them.
However the most important information is to simply ignore them. Its nothing but a request for payment!

Hello, I am a little way ahead of you as I have my second letter the other week. Same car park and same G24. According to the manager of Sports direct they pay G24 to manage the car park so I would shop in a more up market sports shop if I were you. This forum will give you all the support you need.
Just ignore the letters, don't contact them and don't pay. If anything ever came of it WHICH IT WONT, I have enough evidence of this car park for both of us!
  • Got my first friendly reminder from Flashpark today.

    1. Wife opened
    2. Wife panicked
    3. Told wife to put it back in the envelope
    4. Told wife to place in the to be shredded pile

    Job done. :D

Anybody know how many more I can expect to be encumbered with?

Oh - and they couldn't even get the location right.

Not sure....there is a thread [sticky?] showing exactly what the chain letters look like for many PPCs, have a shufty at it.
