Sorry I can`t read 152 pages so..
On Watchdog last year they had a lawyer on who specialised in traffic law. He said that it is practically impossible to inforce a private parking ticket and not to pay them. The company who issued the parking ticket need to PROVE who was driving the car the day and time it was parked, this is practically impossible.
The only parking tickets that should be paid are those issued by the on street parking wardens and police and you can always still appeal.
I got a ticket in a multi storey car park many years ago for slightly parking outside the white line, I never paid it0 -
Er.....whats your point ludamusser????Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

Why would you read all the pages of just a single, ancient and pointlessly bumped-too-often thread on a busy board anyway? I wish this discussion thread wasn't linked to Martin's ancient article as people think it's the only thread on the matter!
The parking board is full of current threads and information. The stickies tell the story and the Watchdog link is already there in all its glory in this sticky near the top of this board:

But you are right to say ignore, of course.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I was one of those who was "worried " when i got this stupid letter asking for £70 "charge and i applied the exact same method as the lawyer on the watchdog "u tube" clip and you know what? i had great fun throwing my paper plane all over the place!Parking Eye (bless em)they must have known i was doing this as they sent me more letters so i could have even MORE fun!!!!its a real shame that they've stopped sending me these "begging "letters(LOL) now ive got nothing to ignore any more and ive been waiting for 3 months for them to send the bailiffs round as they said they would(before any court case?????) more LOL,does anyone NEED more advice than this? forget them and theyre stupid "invoices" ignore them and they WILL go away, what theyre doing is NOT legal....now please have fun with the paper planes,so far i have 5 of them...yawn,if you fold them correctly they look quite good with those chequred lines on them floating through the air and they go a lot further than Parking Eye will EVER get, have fun but please play sensibly, paper planes are dangerous in the wrong hands. On a lighter point////how much does it cost these companies to request details of the vehicle etc from dvla? one day they will get the message that they CANT win
IGNORE THEM AND IGNORE THEM EVEN MORE
Have fun...KT0 -
away from the paper plane fetish and onto the dvla: IIRC a charge of £2.50 per application is levied.
given the 100's of PPC's making 1000's of daily requests, this is a great little money-maker for the dvla. I'd be tempted to say that the dvla are in cahoots with the PPC's - but that would just be cynical...0 -
I moved into a new apartment on Friday, my landlord knew when I was moving in for a month before, i was parked in my allocated space on Monday, however i received a ticket for £80 as i wasn't displaying my permit, however my landlord did not bring me this until Tuesday.
My car park is gated and can only be opened by key fob or a code.
Shall i ignore?0 -

Yes. Just ignore. You have done nothing wrong. Could you tell us the name of the parking company, as we like to name and shame on here. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
It's Vehicle Control Services.
Who the hell needs a permit to park in their secure gated private allocated parking space anyway!!!:mad:0 -

Precisely! It looks as though the landlord has fallen under the evil spell of the parking company. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
