The National Consumer Agency contacted me today and have advised me that they are currently examining this issue.

They have also advised me to contact the European Consumer Centre (ECC) and make a complaint through them also. Here are there contact details;

UNITED KINGDOM: ECC UK
Director: Jed Mayatt
Trading Standards Institute
First Floor, 1 Sylvan Court
Sylvan Way
Southfields Business Park
Basildon SS15 6TH

+ 44 8456 04 05 03
+ 44 8456 08 96 00
ecc@tsi.org.uk
https://www.ukecc.net

I would suggest that every single person who has been sold counterfeit goods by Models and Modistas should contact the ECC as well as the usual channels.

Models and Modistas: It seems there are a lot of disgruntled people on this forum bad mouthing Our company. We are NOT ripping people off to start. It clearly states on Our website the time frame for delivery, yet certain people expect goods to simply appear in their hands as soon as the order is placed. This is ridiculous. We are running a business and are doing Our utmost best to keep Our clients happy. Anyone here who has made a complaint can be assured that You will either receive goods or a refund, whatever Your request. Its very unfair of the people here to criticize Us and Our business in the way they have. There is no malice or intent to defraud in any way, any of Our clients. Apart from the minorities here, we have hundreds of satified customers that would beg to differ with their opinions. We currently handle in excess of 500 emails per day, and the truth be known, its almost impossible to respond to all of them as we are a small company and the manpower is not always available, hence to non response via mail or phone. We would ask any clients with issues over orders to email Us at dresscode20@yahoo.com, and we will endevour to assist as much as humanly possible.
M & M - if you'd like to post on behalf of your company, please contact the forum team on [Removed by Forum Team] and ask for permission to do so: this is stated in the forum rules, and is for everyone's protection.

I have no doubt you will no longer hear from M&M in this forum, how can he possibly reply with "ermm SOME of our goods are legit"

• I had a near escape with an order for a pair of Shure earphones. To be honest I should have known better as they were advertised at far too cheap a price, but you know how sometimes your enthusiasm for a bargain gets the better of you.
I placed an order on the 21st Nov and chased up on the 4th Dec. Fred Penny replied and said the earphones were due to be shipped out on Dec 8th for delivery on Dec 10th. By the 15th I got a bit concerned and mailed again as it had been 25 days since the order had been placed.
At this stage I had become aware that other buyers were having issues with M & M. In the absence of a reply I mailed again (see below) -
Fred, still no sign of the headphones nor a reply from you. I'm not one to kick up a stink or complain unnecessarily but generally find in situations like this being patient and polite rarely works for me. I`m sure you`re aware of people posting on the Money Saving Expert forum which seems to do the job and am hoping I don`t need to do same. However unless I get a reply of some sort before tomorrow evening I will be adding my comments. Sorry and all that but I'm not in the position where I can afford to chuck money down the drain.
Note that in the subject line of the mail I had added the follwing - Shure E4C Earbud Headphones x 1 - Fred, please reply or I will have to post on the MSE forum. This had the desired effect of grabbing his attention immediately as within 8 minuters he had replied (see below) -
The fact that You have even mentioned that Illegal forum is enough for Me. Im issuing a refund forthwith and withdrawing Your product from our Thursday consignment, Emailing here and threating to post comments on a childrens website fall on deaf ears. Goodbye.

I received a refund mail from WorldPay shortly afterwards. I suppose I can consider myself lucky in some respects in that I got a refund before he`d sent fakes to me and hope others are able to do so as well.
• alfie, so Fred thinks MSE is an illegal and a children's site? What planet is he on? It ain't Earth, that's for sure...

I think it will be interesting to hear the outcomes from the ECC and Consumer Connect in Ireland from the complaints lodged by people here.

Of course, I'm now expecting him to come after me for my sheer audacity in voicing my opinion. (Fred, if you are reading this, the operative word in the last sentence has been italicised.)
• Thank you for that interesting post, alfie_conn.

I seem to be in the same situation as many of you here. I ordered a SHURE SM57 microphone on 5th December (well before the Xmas delivery deadline of 10 December) and money was taken from my account the same day.

I hadn't received an order confirmation and after 2 weeks was very suspicious. I emailed to no avail, and called and called, finally getting through to Fred Penny who assured me they were being posted out on December 18th.

Needless to say, there has been no microphone in the post! I thus didn't have a gift for my partner at Christmas.

I have continued emailing to say I DEMAND A FULL REFUND but still no reply. I am now beginning the process of placing reports with the National Trading Standards, Consumer Connect, the ECC, Watchdog etc.

SINCE POSTING THIS TODAY, I HAVE NOW RECEIVED A FULL REFUND. THANK YOU FRED PENNY - IT HAS BEEN AN UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH OF US BUT I APPRECIATE GETTING MY MONEY BACK.

So, what does Fred Penny have to say about all of the cheap, counterfeit items that he has sent out over the Christmas period?

THAT is the reason that he is being 'bad mouthed' all over the internet. But I get the impression that He thinks that all of this is Our fault.

I just want to say thank god for sites like this, without reading this I would have used this 'company' for a purchase but all your comments have given me all the information I need to make sure I do NOT use them, and will make sure none of my family or friends do either.

Models and Modistas is a scam company run by a TInker called Fred Penny, the low life scumbag (YES YOU FRED!") so dimwitted is this filthy excuse of slime, that he tries to campare one of the largest, most popular and internationally famous sites as MSE trying to compare it in his own image as some illegal site, expecting those with brains i.e. the population, other than himself, to believe the word of his verbal diarrhoea over that of such an internationally well accredited site as this.

That this thread will flash on the first page of everyone who googles his slimy company, speaks VOLUMES to the general public, accusing any of his potential victi....I mean customers :) of being children, must be doing his companies popularity a HUGE favour.

For all those of you potentially interested in buying ANYTHING from Mr Penny's "SCAM", I say read this thread, then make an adult decision on who is the Lying Childlike Slimeball, before dealing with any finances for his pocket (company).

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!

In the words of Mr Penny "you've messed with the wrong one here!" ;)

In time he will be caught and prosecuted. leaving the population saying a fond "good riddance" to a scumbag!
