So, my headphones arrived this morning even though I requested that my order be cancelled on the 9th December. The headphones are clearly fakes.
So, I am going to send them off to Shure to verify this, then contact Barclaycard to get a refund and then contact the police.
Anybody else received anything over the xmas period?0 -

funnily enough none of you have put the URL on this thread at all and therefore when you search their URL this thread is not picked up by google only if you search " models and modistas ". So i am pasting (SCAM Website) it here for it to be picked up in case others search for them

er, why are people buying from a company theyve never heard of???
it appearing on a google search page dosnt mean that youve now heard of it.
just had a look at their website, some really really obvious warning signs:
theyre using a free website
they list brand names that hardly anyone else can get hold of eg. armani, jimmy choo
no real email address (yahoo/hotmail etc are not real business email addresses)
on the about us page, appalling grammar & random capitals0 -
The latest on my iPod saga with this joke of a company is that I received two ipods, one was fine but one was the wrong colour and was in a completely smashed box.
I returned the wrong one and Fred Penny assured me by email that he'd send the replacement in time for Christmas, surprise surprise he hasn't and I had to buy an alternative present.
Despite my emails to him I've had not contact from him since the week before Christmas.
I made the mistake of paying for these on my debit card, what action should I take now in order to get my money back? Any help would be appreciated.0 -
Rubbing salt in our wounds isn't very constructive now is it???
If you've nothing constructive to add, don't bother commenting!
What this thread is trying to do is to get Fred Penny busted and out of his scamming 'business'0 -

I bought a 2gb ipod shuffle from this guy - it has arrived and is clearly a fake.
i also paid by debit card, and wonder what would be best to do. i contemplated returning it, but i doubt that i would receive a refund anyway, so although i intend to complain to everyone i can about it, am i just going to have to accept i lost £30? it may not seem much, but it's £30 i can ill afford to lose.
i did search for the name before i bought, but that would have been before anyone posted about them, and the search brought up nothing. Perhaps this should have been a warning sign, but i don;t think it's a bad thing to think the best of people. it's taught me for next time though - no comments is as bad as negative comments for me from now on!0 -
Edgex and Omen666
As the OP I would like to point out to you both - no its not 'funny' and we are all human -- The prices he shows are cheap but not ridiculously as so alarm bells would ring.
- Availability on the brand name items is not difficult - go into any small exclusive boutique and they will have at least one 'name'
- All business start somewhere
- I have used websites that are patently obvious non native English speakers without problems
- An address and phone no was provided
- AS for helpefully posting the URL - No one googles a URL!! When I searched 'models and modistas' to check reviews/feedback after originally finding site (googling cheap ipods) it did not come up with anything other than the site itself. Trying it now of course brings up a different story, due to this thread and cayoutrustthem.com!
However it's not appropriate here as of course we all now know the information that you so graciously pointed out.
Perhaps you would like to start your own thread(s) and assist others before they make our mistakes.?!
Hope that you all can get together as there is definitly more power in numbers. Thoughts to you all that you can put him out of business

Well, this makes for interesting reading. Oh, and it would appear that these cowboys are spamming consumer sites with the same message that they've posted in this thread to defend themselves:

Well, I actually received my 2GB ipod SHUFFLE just before Xmas (tracking number was not provided as stated on their website and it took a long time to arrive).
However, the “ipod” has the following signs of being fake:
- There is not a Shuffle switch on the side of the unit!!!
- ipod docking station was not included
- Only a USB cable included to connect ipod direct to computer
- The serial number and CE marks are missing from under the clip
- itunes does not recognise ipod
- ipod will not charge (well, the orange light does not appear on unit)
- Comprehensive instructions and product information were not included
After receiving the unit from Modals and Modistas, I purchased an ipod shuffle from the Apple store and therefore made the above comparisons. I have tried to contact Modals and Modistas on numerous occasions without success. In the first instance I am going to make a complaint via Consumer Connect
http://www.consumerconnect.ie/eng/Working_With_You/Submit_a_Consumer_Complaint/
I paid by credit card through WorldPay, however, since the value is under £100, I doubt I will get my money back. I do not want to send it back to the company for a refund – I want to have it verified as a fake and take action from there.
