After months of non-existent service, another month without being able to get a new provider so to avoid going with those other scumbags at EzeeDSL (I suspect they are the same people) now I've been asked for an 85 pounds "administrative charge" by a company called netservicesplc for releasing my domain name!!! I refuse to be the target of any more blackmailing by those companies. What can I do to stop all this and get my domain name back??
I am in exactly the same situation with my domain & definitely won't be paying Netservices PLC the £85.00. I am hoping that it if the money isn't paid by the end of this month then it will be released & hopefully I should then be able to reregister it in my own name.
But I reckon if you don't pay up then any e-mail sent to your domain since e7even went bust will dissapear into thin air!!, although I maybe wrong

Just received this from the company I'm trying to move my domain name to:
As this is a .uk domain, then you should simply be able to speak with Nominet (https://www.nic.uk), who are the top level registrar for all .uk domains.
If you explain the situation to them, they should then be able to re-tag this domain for you, I believe they will make a charge of £15 plus VAT to do this.
I'm definitely going to try this and keep you all posted with the results.....0 -

I would be interested to know how you get on but I beleive that the £15.00 + VAT that Nominet charge only applies if the domain is registered in your own name, whereas the ones we got free from e7even were registered in their name. These domains have somehow been passed over to Netservices who are demanding the £85.00 to release it at present, although as I said earlier maybe we will be able to go down the nominet route if the domains are released by Netservices next month when nobody pays them the ripoff £85.00!!
Let's hope for the bestClive0 -
Hi Clive,
I have emailed nominet with attached the email from e7even. As soon as I get a response I will let you know. I've asked them as well what will happen if the domain is cancelled at the end of the month since I've read that it could be followed by a suspension period of several weeks...
Cheers

The situation seems to be the following:
e7even.com are still the registrant of our domain names, netservicesplc are only acting as an agent. That leaves us with a couple of possibilities:
1) e7even gets finally dissolved. We notice nominet and either wait for them to cancel the domains and then re-register them in our name, or we could ask for a transfer as long as we can provide evidence of our established use of the domain name.
2) They cancel our domains at the end of the month when we don't pay.
Does anyone know if e7even has gone into liquidation? Don't think they've paid anyone yet....0 -

E7even are not in administration, and it looks increasingly likely they may escape.
If you do not take up Netservices' offer of your *free* domain registration, then all they will do is let it lapse until registration renewal date.
To find out the renewal date for your domain, put it into here
If it's a long time to wait, then it may be worth registering a new domain, if you haven't already.
You're right that e7even have not paid out anyone from their dslrefundrequest website, but then again, none of us really expected them to anyway. Any claims must be made to the credit card co.0 -
I wonder how the credit card issuers would react if they knew that the same people that have claimed their money back from them are now using the same credit card over a link on the internet that goes to who knows who? Probably the same people that owed them the money in the first place! Best of all is that nominet advised me to go to that link! I've told them I would turn their advice to my bank manager....
That link doesn't look safe at all and I cannot believe have been asked to leave all my details like this over the internet!!
Nominet are the only ones that can sort out this mess so please keep emailing/calling them to put as much pressure as possible!
Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE MORE MONEY TO THOSE SCUMBAGS!0 -
I had a .co.uk free domain through E7, I contacted Nominet (http://www.nominet.org.uk/) explained the problem, they changed me to the registraint for £35 + vat and then £15 + vat to change to tag to my New ISP Madasafish the whole process took 1 week. I have claimed this cost from my credit card company as part of the original claim.0

I was with e7broadband until obviously 1st July like the thousands of others. I signed to talk talk on the 4th July as a new customer to broadband (not offering a mac code). TT said phone active on 14th July and Broadband end Aug. 18th July I received a mac request from TT and emailed back to say i have not got one nor could i supply one.
Phoned TT today and asked if my line going through ok but the man on other end said he could see all in process but could not check if I still had e7 tag or if there a problem and i would get notified nearer the date if there was.
I explained that its only 19 days until end of month and no welcome started pack yet or fixed date to connect, whyyyy ? is there a problem. He still could not be any further help.
I looked on one prodigy link from this thread and got this message
We have detected that you have ADSL already on your line. We can migrate your ADSL service from your current provider to Prodigy free of charge.
If you haven't done so already you need to contact you current ISP and request a MAC code to migrate. Some ISP's may give you a CBUK but you require a MAC code to migrate.
If your adsl line has already been cancelled, or is just about to be, then follow this link to go to the activation page.
And on a slightly different prodigy link i got this
http://www.prodigynet.co.uk/menu.php?page=support/adsllinecheck
Line status
This line has ADSL fully installed on it. There are no open orders currently on this line.
Does anyone know if that means e7 still got my tag or if TT have got it or how can i find out which ADSL is holding the tag.
Any further advice would be greatfully received.

E7 will still have your broadband service (ie. the 'tag') on the line.0
