Without wishing to duplicate threads, can we discuss here how to get service? I'm now in the library where I'm rationed to an hour. Not very good when I', job hunting.

I have the screen when I tried to connect at home virtually saying that E7 had terminated my contract. Is it best to hang on or just take out another contract? If so, who is a good choice for 1M unmetered?

Can I do anything without a MAC code?

    Any thoughts?

I did pay them a visit today but was told thet they're no longer on site

Like everyone else, I need my mac code but both e7even phones are not accepting calls. Is the only route now to go back to otelo the BT wholesale and request the marker be removed as talktalk are ready to connect me and can't without the code.

BT Wholesale wont be able to remove the broadband service (ie. the marker) as legally its the responsbility of the service provider to request to move that service, nothing Wholesale can do to jump in & get involved with until that request is made by the ISP.

Whoops, looks like the mods moved your thread over here,

Hi Mick, i remember you saying that you lived close to e7.
It does appear that they have done a midnight flit as you say.

The choice has to be up to you, but i personally wouldn't be happy to hand over money to these internet hijackers! (it's also a little unclear exactly what is being offered).

Of course that means waiting 14 days before they get off your line, then you can move to someone more decent. (there doesn't seem to be a likelihood of MACs being issued)

You could use dialup in the meantime, i saw one mentioned on here at just a fiver a month with no 12 month contract (fast4 i think) I know someone using that at the mo and it seems to be Ok as a stop-gap until broadband can be sorted out.

I wouldn't like to make any recommendations for an ISP at the mo, but if you are going to wait the 14 days, then people will have some ideas, no doubt.

Of course with a cease and re-provide it means paying BT's connection fee again, but some ISPs do incorporate that into their charging for new accounts.

Whichever you choose, best of luck with it and to all the poor souls abandoned by e7even

ps i just saw Rex_Mundi's post which says it all, really . . . . . nice post, Rex

I've just filled in a little form for a refund that is on the E7 website, basically it consists of your E7 username and password, I wonder if I'll get anything.y3.gif

I think outside the box - I can also think round corners. :p

How safe is this though? Do you think they might just be after your details? Really not sure whether to fill it in or not

Rex_Mundi, I also would like to thank you for that very detailed and helpful post, it was most kind of you to take so much trouble doing it.

I have filled in the form, not that I hold out much hope, but if we DON'T do this then our credit card companies will not compensate us, oh dear what a mess!

Good advice on how to proceed with a refund from E7
