OK, re-read the t&c and it does say that there is a 12 month minimum contract in the definitions section (which I didn't check thoroughly as I thought I knew what 'ADSL service' meant :/).

    be very careful fellow moneysavers.
It looks more and more a scam from an unknown company ezee dsl, which might or mighit not be connected to e7 in this new scam.

Read all opinions and speculations at:

it appears a scam is going on. Check out all the news at:

It would NOT be possible to change your markes in an hour on a saturday as this company claims to be doing. They look just a filter on top of the normal e7 pipe. Of course this seems illegitimate, but might be e7 is behind all this...

I'm on my old dial-up - e7 contract due to expire tomorrow (2nd July) anyway despite asking several times for a MAC. If they have gone bust, I hope the people involved will be barred as Directors for a long time - they have treated too many of us like cr4p for too long.

Actually the dial-up doesn't seem that slow after the last few months of (I would guess) massively over-piped "broadband". I certainly won't be touching anybody faintly connected with e7 with a 12 foot bargepole.

My Mum has the same problem - we bought her a 2 year contract last September, paid on credit card so if they have gone out of business then I wonder if I'm covered in any way?

Will wait to see if there's any news tomorrow. Thanks for the links.

Anyone who paid on CREDIT CARD for a good/service worth £100+ will have the same 'equal liability' rights re the contract against the credit provider as they had against the vendor under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 Section 75.

So if you paid say £240 for 24 months, and only 9 months got delivered, thats £150 owed you by e7even and/or your credit card company. Just be clear with the credit provider that you are claiming under the CCA74-S75.

See the government's Consumer Direct website

    THIS IS AN URGENT MATTER

I think it's going to be a case for ofcom or whatever they call themselves these days.

We should all get together and write to the governing body asking them to look into this affair.

I agree that it looks fishy and my bet is that the same peeps on the board of directors behind E7even are the same peeps offering the new service and demanding monies - without offering a true alternative - and not giving the MAC to enable us to go elsewhere.

We need to stand together and DEMAND something is done.

If I read correctly those that are on the 'net' service will lose connection on the 5/7 so if you are with e7even and still connected you don't have long before your service goes down and if, like me, you don't have dial-up, then you are stuffed.

SUPPOSE SOMEONE COMES UP WITH A LETTER FOR US ALL TO COPY.

I think It'll then be taken very seriously.

    Any other suggestions?

    EDIT:
    Just found this.
Problems with your internet service -
Customers experiencing Broadband problems with E7even

Ofcom is aware of the various problems experienced by customers of E7even. We are in contact with the company to raise our concerns and to ascertain what the company is doing to resolve them.

E7even has told Ofcom it is restructuring its network. This has unfortunately affected its customers' broadband connections; and this problem has in turn led to a substantial increase in the volume of calls to the company's helplines.

E7even has assured Ofcom that it is working to resolve these problems and that they hope to restore services as soon as possible. The company has also told Ofcom that it has emailed its customers to tell them that they can cancel their contracts without penalty. This e-mail should contain a link enabling customers to request a migration authorisation code (MAC).

All communications providers must have in place a Code of Practice which sets out their complaints process. The E7even Code of Practice can be found on the company's website at https://www.e7broadband.com/cop.html.

NOTE - GO HERE AND COPY THE DETAILS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!!

E7even is a member of Otelo, the Office of the Telecommunications Ombudsman. If you have followed E7even's complaints process and are not happy with the final outcome - or if your dispute with E7Even has been ongoing for more than 12 weeks - then you may want to consider contacting Otelo. More information about Otelo can be found on their website at https://www.otelo.org.uk

Rizla I quite agree with you that it would be a lot easier if those affected could make a united complaint. There must be so many of us wondering what the heck to do next! Like most people I am now on dial-up......... As far as the 'new offer' is concerned I have no intention of touching it with a barge pole, as far as I can see they are one and the same set of crooks!

It would be SO HELPFUL if some of the more knowledgble people could help those of us who haven't a clue as to what to do next, I know I would be very so grateful. As a pensioner on a limited budget this has come as a big blow........
    Thank you in advance:o

Has anyone managed to get in touch with E7? The lines I've tried state that customer services are currently closed:

    0870 224 5126
    0870 116 3678
  • Spoke to Ofcom this morning, E7Broadband has ceased trading according to them. Ezee are part of a company called 186K. The telephone number given to me by ofcom for this company is 0870 1222186 (Don't forget saynoto0870.com).

Rang credit card company (Tesco Finance) explained what has happened, they are sending forms so that I can claim back unused months of subs. Lady at Tesco's said to make sure that you put on form the date that broadband service stopped.

Ps I'm not going to go with Ezee, am going to try to get MAC code from them.
