Tags (ie. a broadband service) can only be removed by the current broadband supplier, same with MAC's. They can only be issued by the current supplier of broadband to the line

I'm online at work, but will use one of the many pay per minute dial up services at home until I get the broadband sorted.

I see it that we will get no joy out of anyone till the 14th July, then the tags will be dropped. We will then be free to go elsewhere but as said in someone elses post, we will not then get treated as a transferring customer, merely as a new customer.

    However I will keep trying.

I contacted Ofcom who just said "they were aware of the problems with e7even" and they were trying to contact them. I was told to telephone BT wholesale, ( 08001690934) after being kept in a queue for 56 minutes!!!!! once again I was told "they were aware of the situation" but that THEY (BT) could not do a thing about taking the tag off the line, only Ofcom could take steps to have that done, and to contact .............wait for it..................... OFCOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! talk about taking the mickey:mad: a POX on both of them.
Anyone else decided which isp they will now use? what a minefield:confused:

Same thing happened to my boyfriend when he started making phone calls this morning. I'm trying to get hold of him to see if he paid by credit card as getting money back from the evil e7even hardly looks optimistic at the moment.

Remember gatita - it's e7even that have screwed us over not ofcom or BT though I would say that a better system for tagging and migrating should be in place.

    What a mess.

I've just transferred to Ezeedsl or whatever it calls itself, I typed "moveto.ezeedsl.co.uk" (without quotes) into the address bar on my screen and I got an application page to sign up, so I've lost my remaining subscription with E7 but it was only a couple of months, I was hoping my IP Address would change but it hasn't, obviously the connection carries my IP Address. Pity about the 5 free months I've lost too. y5.gif

Not a chance I'll go to the new lot (ezee whatever) out of the frying pan into the fire ! I was on a month to month contract so haven't lost out, but to all you people who have lost money .. what's the betting the people behind the new provider are exactly the same as the people behind e7even.

BT for me, their top package looks ok.

THe whole thing is frustrating but dont get yourselves too wound up, you see these things on watchdog and the punter always loses out to the professsional crooks.

I'm on a Low User Scheme with BT, if I had changed to them for my ISP I would have had to pay full phone line rental fee, my average quarterly phone bill is around £12 so I would be a lot of money out of pocket, it's cheapo or nothing for me I'm afraid. y4.gif

You will have to have the LUS removed before your line can be ADSL enabled by BT.

Also, you should all be reminded that E7 gave each one of us an extra month for 'Free' by way of compo for their past poor service. (Or a cheque for the difference - and that is if anyone actually received it)

I feel this should also be taken into account when determining what they actually owe.

Also that the 'Free' year was part of the contract and used as an inducement to purchase so that in law you have every right to be compensated for the 'Free' year as if you had paid for it, I think you'll find.
