Drop half a stone for Christmas!

Welcome BelfastGirl! Do have a look at caloriecount.com it is very good!
Dragon, don't do yourself down! you are doing so amazingly well! 4.5lbs this week! Forget about how much you'd like to lose in the longer term, and just focus on losing half a stone for christmas - you are going great guns! (I am going on holiday in Feb, so I'll be on another half stone challenge after christmas.... those half stones WILL add up)
Well, I am chugging a bit at the moment - I was doing fine at the start of the week and am still down on the week, but only just maintaining the past two days - mainly cos my G'daughter is constantly needing feeding, and I tend to have a bit with her to be sociableStill, I'm pleased, because at least the calorie counting is keeping me on track - otherwise I would have really fallen off the wagon!
Keep up the good work folks! See you tomorrow (just wanna get my last drink in before bedtime...)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Okay well I did the dreaded weigh in this morning and I have gained 2lbs in the last month - now at 12.2. Considering the month I've just had I'm not feeling too bad about this. But this is where it all starts again. I'm not going to the gym, my chest and throat are still quite bad, but it's a lovely sunny day here so I am going for a good walk, I'm aiming for an hour all in. And I have nice healthy food in. I reckon I can be down to about 11.10 by Christmas with a bit of hard work. this would leave me overweight rather than obese
Fingers crossed!

Two days to go, Girls! We can do it !!!
Have you eaten breakfast today?
Belfast Girl - you do right to avoid the gym, your immune system will be weak at the moment. Even two miles at a slow pace on flat even ground burn almost 190 calories. In the summer months when I'm weller, I walk to a local shop, which is just about a mile away, have a rest, and then walk back. I don't do it every day, but a few times a week, and it really makes a difference.
Catch you all later xI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Thanks for all the good vibes folks! it must have paid off a bit - another half pound off! LazyDaisy I will be up for another "shift a half stone after the Christmas Excess" challange and then possibly a "Oh shoot I am still not slim and it is nearly Easter", then a "Flipping roll on where did the Summer come from!" and ...... well you get the picture :rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Good Morning Girls! One day left to weigh in! Keep counting them calories!
I've just had an apple for breakfast today, coz I promised GD2 that I'd take her to one of those 'all you can eat' chinese buffet restaurants this afternoon, so I think I need to save up my calories today!
Might even try and persuade her to give me a hand to clear out the spare room... which should earn me some extra calories!
If you go out today, keep well wrapped up, it is VERY COLD out there!!!

Well Girls, it's Monday....
I have lost 2 lbs - which I'm pleased about as I've maintained over the weekend, and without calorie counting, I could so easily have undone all my good work to date.
My problem now is that I've reached my 'sticking point' , it is really hard to break down through this level, so this week will be a real challenge for me.
BUT I AM TELLING MYSELF I CAN DO IT
How are you all doing?I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Well done on the 2lbs LD!!
Not going so good here, my sniffle has exploded into a full blown cold with sneezing, runny nose and particularly coughing! Which has meant I've hardly got out at all over the last couple of days. I'm hoping if I take it easy it'll go over faster. At least I was able to take today off work, that's the only saving grace, but I can't stay off tomorrow as well. I am eating a bit more than usual but not a load more. I'm guessing maintenance at the minute.
Hope everyone else is doing better.0 -
Final result for the week is 2 pounds off, it was 5 pounds off until I needed to take medication again - but if I can keep this up I WILL lose the half stone by Christmas! (or certainly the New Year!!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Aghh. I had a busy weekend, including social things. Did okish...nothing wicked, no canapes but Sunday was a meal. Disaster. You know how it is when you ar rally being PUSHED food. I was backed into that very uncomfortable corner of ,'well, uh, I'm dieting'. I think most people have assumed I've just accepted things how they are so this then turned into a huge discussion of my health and how I shouldn't feel down or unsexy (I dom't feel unsexy, DH is great at keeping me feling loved, but I feel unattractiv to myself). This has infact had the opposite reacftion it was menat to and has made me fairly depressed about the situation.
I planned to get on the scales for the first time in this challenge, now I feel it will be counter productive,.
I had breakfast (toast) and lunch, bowl of vgetables left ovr fom the weekend with a littl pesto.
BTW, I know I raved about it last week, but the water filter is GREAT.0
