I get very depressed (I have all my old 'thin' g been vrweight clothes and despite having been overwight for a few years now I really get very depressed about the situation, coupled with ill health and pain its all very depressing). Sounds like Mr Lostinrates and Mr The Dragon would get on wll: min has refereeed Drs appointmnts too
BTW I have horses, not riding ATM (too brokenand heavy) but they do give me some limited exercise and fresh air.
Dealing with the weight in little chunks with a goal date is a good idea.
Right, off to go and do th horses now,
Dr Dragon is a great one to have on your side when dealing with officials of any nature! Because of my pain I tend to panic easily (was REALLY panicking when I saw the news about "Getting virtually everyone on benefits into a job or stop paying them!", Dr Dragon read it differently and was trying to calm me down!)
Ooh too horses! Lucky person!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Do you guys like bananas? A smoothy made with one medium banana whizzed up in a blender with half pint semi skimmed milk and a couple of ice-cubes is worth 260 cals.
Just thought if you have been on low cals it might take a while to re-educate your palate - it might be more convenient to have a 260 cal smoothy, than eat an extra 260 cal meal?
On the subject of meals - coop have a special offer of two veggie tandoori ready meals for £5. They have 225 cals each and are very nice. I think there is a lot of oil in them though, so I'm going to have a look at the ingredients tomorrow and see if I can make a healthier version (I don't cook much but if Rodger the Lodger chops the veggies for me, and lifts the pan off the stove ate the end, I should manage it - and increase my activity cals at the same time)

Good morning playmates!
Have you had breakfast? If not, go and eat something now! :A
I have to say that although I know B'fast is the most important meal of the day, it is my biggest bugbear. I have never wanted breakfast, I even used to go to school without breakfast and not eat till lunch - not because it wasn't offered, but I just couldn't face it.
So I am making an extra special effort with this meal, because when i DO eat breakfast, I DO lose weight.....I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Ys Mum to having eaten breakfast! Granted it wasn't the classic English but actually a ham and cheese roll but hey! I ate something LOL.
Still 4.5 pounds down from my weigh in on Monday - looking good for me so far :ADo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Sorry, I should have given my story, how rude
I've had arthritis in my big toe for about 2 years now and it's stopped me doing step, aerobics, and made me cut back a lot on my walking. If I could I'd be walking to work (40 minutes each way) but I have to cycle instead, and it's not enough! I'm at least a stone and a half over where I'd like to be.
I'm getting my toe operated on (and hopefully fixed!) on the 23rd, so obviously it would be helpful to be slightly lighter for that, as a) it's a general anaesthetic and I need to be fit, and b) I'll be semi-immobile over Christmas and for at least 3 weeks so I need to compensate for the weight I won't lose then!!My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

i just want to wish you all a huge amount of luck and will power and health,
and hope it all goes well for you,
ive had cfs/ME for 5 years now, and it seriously put a stop to my activity,
i used to walk for miles ride several times a day, had a womens 6 pack, and never sat down, now i hardly do much, not by choice,
i still have one of my horses, and she has kept me going, if i didn't have her i don't know wha i would have done, cant ride very often etc, but keeps me going, and when i manage to ride, it is a wonderful freedom.
i drink between 2/3 litres of water a day, have done for 9 years now,
thats at least 8 glasses of water a day, its easy to drink that amount when you get into the habit.
i swapped hard cheese for feta and cottage,
and use good olive oil in my cooking,
i will look into the diet link when i get a chance, really i just thought it was great that you can all support each other etc,
GOOD LUCKTHANKS to everyone who posts competitions. you are all :A.0
