  • Hi All,

Been to Boots and got the stuff I needed, I didn't use my points however I did use a gift card I found lurking in my purse that I forgot about. I also got a good deal on the things I did get as the shampoo was 2 for £4 and the body wash was buy 1 get 1 free.

The delivery has arrived and she has sent 12 bottles of wine, a bottle of whisky, bottle of gin and a bottle of champagne....I'm gobsmacked! It must have cost her a fortune! I'm near to tears.

She says that the third surprise will be on it's way shortly...so heaven only knows what that is if the last two surprises are anything to go by.

This is certainly a Christmas that will be memorable for many years.

Off to wash up now and put a load of washing on.

Wow! Your mum *certainly* knows how to make surprises. She's been planning this for a long time, hasn't she! How lovely, absolutely lovely.

  • Took DS to school this morning and unusually for me I popped home before going to playgroup with DD.

My SiL had parked half way down the street  and then came sauntering up with presents for the kids, she was very civil proceeded to put the kids presents at the front door before making a quick exit as fast as she could before she had to speak to me.

My brother (her Son in Law) however has failed to send anything for the kids because he's fallen out with me and DH....blooming families

Rant over, I feel better now.

We are expecting another delivery today from DH's company, they are sending out boxes of wine to their managers...if last year is anything to go by, it will be 2 bottles of wine, a bottle of port and some cheese.

I have got the weekly shopping being delivered this afternoon and I need to change the kids beds, wash up and do a load of washing.

    Have a good afternoon all.

    Hello guys,

I agree a good rant gets it all out of your system & is it just me or do you hit the keys harder too ;)

Have a good week end xx
  • Happy weekend!

Well I did a stupid thing yesterday, I lost my bank card and have had to request a new one  It's a good job DH can still access the joint account so he can get some money for me if I need it.

DH and I sent my mum some flowers with chocolates to say thanks for what she's done for us and she was choked as she said she didn't do those things to get something back...bless her! I told her we sent them because we wanted to make her smile as this time of year is always difficult for her since my dad died, she loves them and they have made her smile so job done :D

Have put some coins in the demi-john this morning and some pound coins in the terramundi, DS asked yet again if we can crack it open.

Got some housework to do this morning and then DS wants to go and ride his bike this afternoon.

All in all a busy day, have a good weekend everyone.

  • Yaay it’s a new week, its Christmas week and soon it will be 2009 and a chance to clear the rest of the debt :D

DH made a start on de-cluttering the conservatory yesterday, lots got taken to the dump and other stuff was put back in to the attic. It isn’t clear totally out there but it is a lot better than it was….one to cross of the 2009 list once it’s finished.

Mum has said that the third and final surprise will be delivered today…DH reckons that it’s a Porche for him :rotfl: :rotfl:

Once the delivery has been whether it is morning or afternoon, the kids and I need to nip to Tesco’s to get the rest of the shopping, we need cream and salad etc…stuff that would have gone off if I’d have bought it last week.

I also need to wrap DH’s Christmas presents today and tonight and tomorrow night I need to wrap the kids presents.

DH gave me two £2 coins this morning which I have put into my terramundi, it’s getting rather full now and I reckon it would have been full if I hadn’t banked the £2 coins that I have saved before deciding that they should be in the pot at the beginning of the year.

Apart from that nothing else to report, so have a good day everyone.
  • I almost forgot to add, although I haven't joined the £4k a year challenge I am however going to set this as my own challenge and see what can be saved etc through out 2009.

My £4k will be used for groceries/alcohol, kids activities, car things, birthdays/anniversary and anything else that I may remember in due time.

I plan to do as many surveys etc like this year but with avengance in 2009 to get Christmas sorted.
