Karmacat – thank you for the information about moving and hope that we’ll be able to get there one way or another.
DH forwarded to me an e-mail that he received at work advising him that they are going to start and do childcare vouchers; this is something I was thinking about for DD after Christmas. I thought about possibly putting her in pre-school/nursery for 2 mornings a week and that could probably work and not cost us a lot of money to do it…will have to investigate that one me thinks!
As for my plan today, well not much got done; I didn’t do all the washing and the ironing is still there
…there is all weekend I guess, at least DS didn’t get any homework today or this week for that matter.
Both DH and I have been able to redeem money from Lightspeed (£7 in total) and I am £4.95 off the allocated amount to be able to get a pay out from Pure Profile.
I put some money in the demi-john and a couple of £1 coins in the terramundi since yesterday, so that’s building up quite nicely.
I need to do some more investigating with regards to setting up the other savings account, I want one that won’t charge me to withdraw as this one is for the moving fund but also will be for emergencies if needed.0 -
This it what the isotope scan will involve;
The scan is to differentiate what the lump in the thyroid is. It is done by your daughter having a small drink containing radioactive iodine. The thyroid and the lump will uptake the iodine. this is measured by a special machine which provides an image for the doctors. You would have to sign a consent form for the scan, it is completly painless, there is not usually any injection involved. This is the scan you asked about, it may differ between hospitals but this is how it is done where i work.
I know its difficult and you are worried, but try not to. (easy for me to say i know). If you want to know any thing else you are welcome to ask or you can send a pm.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
Hi lunar,
Thank you! :A

Just a quick update before I log off for the evening.
I have found the savings account that will be okay for the present time and also note that I need to fill in a form so I don't get taxed, I need to fill in the same form and send it to Alliance & Leicester so they stop charging me tax as well.
The account is with Principality Building Society and is an online saver and gives 4.5% interest, I didn't get any cashback as they weren't through Quidco but it's still not bad in the end and a fairly good rate. I have sent them £10 to start it off, all I need to do next week is sort out what interest is on the other account and transfer it over.
I feel fairly confident about things now if not in total control.
Have a good evening everyone.0 -
Morning everyone and anyone who happens to drop in, help yourself to a mince pie

Not much to report today.
DH has gone to work at the flying club but he is of the opinion that there won't be much flying going on due to the weather, so a fairly easy day for him me thinks and he's off out for a pint after work with the staff.
The kids and I are off to the local soft play centre in a wee while, we are meeting a friend of DS's so they can play in the soft play bit and then after lunch we are going to the other area so DS can go to karate...he has told me that he will join in this week, so we'll see.
I also need to nip to Tesco's to get some essential stuff and post a few letters.
Dinner tonight might be pizza out of the freezer. The curry was unusually carp last night, which is a first for the curry house we normally use.
I didn't get the presents wrapped so must get them done at some point this weekend so I can send them off to the respective peeps on Monday.
Have updated my sig to show that we need £30,000 not £20,000 as previously thought. That has given me the urge to get rid of the family loan so we can plow that money in to the fund too.
Forgot to add, we both got funds from Lightspeed in Paypal paid in this morning.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Woah, £30k? Ouch. Mind you, with the structural work on my house, its going to be like that for me too. I can only see around £20k on your sig still tho, Tea. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the day with the kids, and that DS got to do his karate.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Another new week and another step closer to Christmas

DS has his school Christmas Dinner this week and DD has her Christmas Party with the Friday playgroup, DS also finishes school this week until after Christmas when he then goes full time.
Anyway on to today, my list is as follows:- Post Office to send parcels
- Morrisons for bin liners/bananas
- Washing
- Iron 10 items of clothing
- Washing up
which cleared the overdraft and he got a bonus so for once the bank account looks healthy, I need to move some of it so we can give SiL some money and I can put some towards the moving fund.
I am also going to Tesco’s Gatwick on Thursday to get the rest of the Christmas stuff (this time with the aim of not getting lost :rotfl: ) and then I can relax a bit.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Sounds good to me. I'll just help myself to a mince pie from yesterday (oh, Saturday, oops, still you kept them in a biscuit box or something, didn't you??
) I was supposed to be at the dentist today, but she's ill, so I'm giving myself an extra 10m on mse. Hiya! 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Karmacat,
Of course I put them in a biscuit box, apart from the one that fell on the floor I put that back on the plate.
Sorry to hear that your dentist has pulled a sickie, were you having much done or was it just a check up?0 -
Hiya, thanks for the pie again! Dentist has rescheduled me for Friday - might mean I have to go up to London on my own, not with my business partner in his nice warm car, but so be it. It was just a checkup, thankfully.
After the mince pie, I've got *real* oven chips in the oven, just about to come out!!! Asda smartprice, naturally.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
